Christmas Treat Bags

I work in a primary school and Christmas is such an exciting time of the year for the Reception children.  The teaching staff have a difficult time thinking of economical Christmas gifts to give to all the children at the end of the school year. I thought these Santa and elf treat boxes would be quick to make and could easily be made in volume whilst still cost effective!

How I Designed the Bag:

I have used the Cereal Box file from the Craft Room Library which I resized. (See How to Resize Images video tutorial). I straightened and folded over the top flaps of the box to make it more rigid.

I selected the rectangle tool and created my straps (braces) using my Pazzles software.  I drew the stitching using the dash lines, together with the NEW improved Pazzles pen tool and my white pen. I then drew another rectangle for the Santa and elf black belt.  I rounded a square to make the buckle using glitter vinyl. (See Rounding Corners video tutorial).

I used two different styled punches to make the trims around the top of the clothing and added some buttons using black cardstock. I filled my cello bag with chocolate money and secured it using some Baker’s Twine.
