Candy Cane Christmas Cards Two Ways

Christmas-Cards

It’s Christmas Card Week on the Pazzles Blog. Be inspired all week long by handmade Christmas cards from the Pazzles Design Team. They’ve each created a card and are sharing two different versions with you. The first version is quick and easy, perfect for making multiples of. The second card is a stepped-up version of the first and a bit more time consuming for someone special. Turn on the Christmas music and create along with us!
Christmas Card Sets

Hi fellow Pazzlers, Joanna here with you to share two Christmas cards using my Pazzles Inspiration. One is a Print and Cut card that can be made in bulk and the other is using the same design but paper pieced. The second card is more time consuming to make, therefore you would possibly only wish to make these for your closest friends!

I sized the cards exactly the same and used the rhinestone feature on both the base cards. Instead of using rhinestones which would be quite expensive I filled the rhinestone design with a red fill and red line colour, then Print and Cut my base card.

Print & Cut Candy Cane Christmas Card
I created my rectangle for the inside white card and made an outline for the red card. Check out the Video Tutorial on Creating an Outline, which will help you with this process. I imported the Candy Cane cutting file into my software, which I found in the Pazzles Library. I increased the thickness of the red outline of the Candy Cane and rotated the image slightly to the right. I then Print and Cut the white rectangle with my Candy Cane image. I assembled my layers and added some Card Candi for the berries which I glittered.

Paper Pieced Candy Cane Christmas Card
I made the base layer of my card the same as above, with the printed rhinestone effect. I embossed the inside white layer using my embossing folder with my embossing machine which looked a bit like snowballs! I then cut out each of the layers of the Candy Cane and pieced them together. I inked around the edges of the holly and added my embellishments.

I love the effect of both these cards, and hope you might have a go yourself using similar cards from the Pazzles Craft Room.
