Iron On!

Ask anyone who knows me and one of the first things they’ll probably say is that I’m crafty. The truth is, the Inspiration is my secret. I might have a great idea, but the Inspiration puts that in to action and is the magic behind my creation. Everybody likes customized gifts, and I mean everybody!! I love showing up for parties and events with customized treat bags, glasses and clothing. Nothing says I love you more than a gift with them in mind. Anybody can go to the store and buy a simple gift, not everybody can create personalized gifts for that special somebody. I can honestly think of a million uses for iron on material. I was at the store last night looking at fun iron on images and just smiled because as much as I liked them, I didn’t like the price tag. On top of that, I knew that I could create them at home, and make them even better! One of my favorite gifts for Bridal Showers is a shirt that says Mrs. (their last name) with matching undies. This is always such a huge hit, because it’s just about them. Customized baby onsesies for baby showers are always great gifts too!

We had so much fun with these iron-on designs and every time we do them we all agree that we are only beginning to tap in to all the possibilities! Chris made some absolutely adorable aprons – all costs totaled she made THREE custom aprons for $35.00 with supplies to spare! Amanda decided to make a t-shirt with a custom design for herself. Lisa made a great trio of “Kiss the Cook” designs, and I (Tatum) decided to breath some new life in to my daughters jeans by adding some great flourish designs. We hope you enjoy our creations! Oh how I wish that I had seen this about two summers ago. My niece decided that for her daughter’s birthday party, she (we) was going to allow the guests to design tote bags with their names…..and a shirt to match. The kids loved designing…but the iron on part was a nightmare for you-know-who! I tried and tried not to touch previously ironed on parts…didn’t know about your products or Teflon mats back then. But the future lies ahead and I can’t wait to make gifts now! Thanks for the tutorials!

BTW…..I like everything that you all designed….but I absolutely love the jeans! Have you checked out the price of these designer jeans lately?! My granddaughter had her eye on a pair that I knew that she would have grown out of before she finishes a sneeze. Now, I can make them! Tatum and Amanda….love the designs…can’t wait to attempt them!

Another BTW…with the flocked and glitter iron-ons…what is the washing method? Will the glitter spread to other clothing or is it encapsulated in a plastic coating…and what about the flocking in the washer? Hand wash only?

  • Christine

The recommended washing cycle is gentle. I test washed and dried all of the iron on materials – over and over again. (I actually abused them by tossing jeans in with t-shirts just to check the durability.) I did not notice any spread of the flock or glitter onto other clothing.

Personally, I would probably wash in cold water on gentle cycle and dry at a low temp. Unless it was kids or team t-shirts. Those would need more aggressive cleaning so I would use warm water and a regular cycle.

    Chris,
I notice that all of these videos talk about the Inspiration. I have a Pro that is about 6 years old. Can I use the same technique on it? I haven’t used it much in the past few years do to my work schedule. I would like to get back to using it ( I always enjoyed it). Would you recommend upgrading to the Funtime software?
Thanks for all of your teaching!
    Deb

You can definitely use the same techniques with the Pro. You would just need to adjust your pressures for the Pro. I would definitely recommend upgrading your software. You will find that a lot of features are better and easier. 🙂

Is this stiff after it’s ironed on And I saw a shirt it looked real glossy is it all like that the shirt had a soccerball on it I think

  • Amanda

I think the picture you saw they must have used a different Iron on material. The Pazzles Iron on isn’t really glossy and it’s definitely soft and flexible.
