For this month’s Goodie Bag, I’m talking about one of my absolute favorite resources: card sketches. Don’t get me wrong, I love scrapbooking page sketches, especially Becky Fleck’s Page Maps (I have both her books and I visit her site all the time) but I find myself relying on card sketches more and more. I’ll blame Facebook—I haven’t had to remember anyone’s birthday in years because it tells me… but not until the day before, so I have to make a card at the last minute! That’s when card sketches come in super-handy.
So without further ado, here are my favorite resources for card sketches:
- • Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. They have a great, easy-to-use archive, and they do cards in all shapes and sizes. Once a month they have a “Round or Square” sketch—if you like round cards, you will love getting your Mojo on!
- • Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge by Karen Giron. I like that she gathers all the sketches on the Flickr page so you can see all the sketches at once. If you need more inspiration, on her blog you can see sample cards and submissions to the challenge.
- • Freshly Made Sketches. Simple and clean layouts from Australia. Their gallery of sketches is a little out of date from where they are on the blog, but they are all very nice.
- • Got Sketch? by Valerie Salmon. A nice blog of sketches for cards and layouts of all shapes. Sadly, no gathered gallery of all the card sketches; you have to scroll through the blog.
- • Splitcoaststampers has almost 400 card sketches in their challenge gallery.
- • If you need more instructions than just a sketch, you’ll like these cards from Sketch Support. They have scrapbook page sketches as well.
