Create-a-Calendar Cutting Collection: WPC, AI, and SVG cutting files

Create-a-Calendar Number Birthday Cards

I’m excited for today’s collection because of the potential I see in it. The Create-a-Calendar Cutting Collection was deigned to let you make your own custom calendars, and includes the grid, the button numbers, and a title for each month. Make a seasonal layout for each month and a matching calendar grid, and you will have an adorable calendar to give as a gift or hang in your own home. At the end of the year, disassemble the calendar, trim off the hole-punched bottoms and you will have twelve layouts for your album.

For my January calendar page I used the Snowfall Overlay found in the Craft Room Library as my background. I placed the pale blue overlay over silver glitter paper so the glittery snowflakes would show through. I cut simple photo frames and a few extra snowflakes for layering. I created my layout and calendar grid on 12 x 12 cardstock and then used The Cinch by We R Memory Keepers to bind it all together.

The fun doesn’t end with calendars.  The button numbers can be used as accents for cards and other paper projects. The first birthday card I created uses a large number 13 button as the focal point. I added Twirled Flowers around the button and a glittery sentiment to finish it off. The second card I created uses the same large number button focal point, but this time I used the numbers left behind from my calendar buttons to create number confetti, which I sprinkled onto my card.

As I’m creating collection projects, my mind always wanders to alternate projects that could be made with these pieces. The calendar grid can be cut from vinyl and the number buttons from magnetic sheets to make a refrigerator calendar that can be changed for the month. You can even use dry erase markers directly on some refrigerators. The month files make great scrapbook layout titles and the number buttons would make adorable cupcake toppers with a child’s age highlighted.

The Create-A-Calendar Collection is available for purchase in AI, SVG, and WPC cutting file formats in the store, and was released to Craft Room members on Friday in the New section. Craft Room members can see our other Collections in the Library, and non-members can purchase any or all Collections in the Store.

Tammy-The assembly of the calendar depends on how you want to use it. If you intend to take out the pages and add them to an album, I would start with fresh pages each time. This is especially important if you intend to write in the calendar boxes, as the ink may bleed through to the other side. If you intend to use it only as a calendar feel free to add to the back sides which will save you paper.

Michelle, thank you so much! I ignored the files when I first saw them as I couldn’t think of anything nice to use them for. Now you have inspired me – and I do need that at present.
    Beautiful work!
