Make Your Own Washi Tape!

WildForWashi-WebHave you discovered the many uses of washi? Here in the Pazzles office we are wild for washi! It is such a fun addition to almost any project and comes in a variety of designs. My favorite part is the fact that you can tear it to different lengths and the messy edge is OK. (I like permission to be a bit messy- it validates my penchant for making clutter when I create.) It can also be layered and because most washi is transparent you get an hombre look by adding layers.

Now, you know that Michelle and I had to figure out how to make washi with our Inspiration Cutter and I am happy to say that we were knee deep in washi  by the time we were done! The great thing about making your own washi tape is that you can make it to match any project you are working on. Plus you can make different widths so you are not limited to the standard 1/2 inch washi that is usually sold in the stores. You probably have  papers like tissue paper and vellum in your home and they make wonderful washi.  In the video Michelle will show you other papers she found that make unique washi tape. Once you start making your own washi, you will find be watching for other papers to make it from.

Be sure to watch the video to get all the tips and tricks for making washi and we show you some projects made from washi as well. I also show you how to set up a cutting file in the Inspiration Studio Software so that you can cut your newly created washi into any width strips you desire. Soon, you will be wild for washi too!

Have fun!

Gene, it could have been slow internet on our end or on yours. It is working today. I even tried it on my iPad using celluar instead of internet and it works there too. If you continue to have problems call into the office to see if Dave can help you.

It works at my house which has really slow Internet. Try again, maybe there was a temporary problem. Also, make sure your QuickTime is up to date. You can try Chrome or Firefox for a browser, they might work better. Sometimes Explorer is a bit finicky. 🙂

This is unbelievably neat! I’m so excited, and I can’t wait to try it. I am also a paper hoarder and I have some of the most wonderful papers, because I do exactly what Michelle does and when I find something I like I purchase it. Now, I can make matching washi tape for all my projects. You guys are the absolute best! Thank you.
