The sun is beginning to shine here in the UK, and the summer holidays will soon be upon us. I came across this gorgeous Teardrop Trailer file in the Craft Room Library and thought it would be ideal to transform into a small gift for someone going on their holidays.
I took the cutting file and outlined the whole of the file at a thickness of 0.15. I needed to make a large shadow, so that it included the wheels together with the main body of the trailer. I cut the outline out twice in Kraft card using my Inspiration. I cut out the rest of the elements, and had great fun deciding on my patterned papers, which I felt gave a summery feel to the project.
I made myself some bunting in my software using the polygon drawing feature, then created my bunting string using the arc from path tool to plan the design. Once I had cut out my bunting in patterned paper, I adhered the bunting to the twine to give a seaside theme. I re-sized some of the circle elements and added a heart for the center of the window in the door.
Using my software I designed a simple little box using Kraft card to hold the treats, which when assembled measures 3” x 1.5”. I sandwiched the treat box with strong glue, between the 2 Kraft card shapes. I added some definition to the project using a white pen which works well on Kraft card. You can watch the Making Shaped Bags video for more information on how to do this.
I filled a cello bag with chopped up fruity rock and popped it into the treat box. The final project measures approximately 7” x 4.6”. The teardrop trailer brings back happy memories as a child when we packed our caravan to go on our family summer holidays by the sea.
