I am anxious for spring. I need to see the fresh colors and blooming flowers. Maybe a beautiful dimensional hat and cake will encourage an earlier arrival. This can be given for many occasions: May Day, Mother’s Day, Graduation, Birthday, Just Because. This is an idea that will take you just minutes to complete.
I started with the Spellbinders Nested Circle Holes Digital Files for the scalloped circles. For the hat, I used two scallop circles. For the cake I added one additional layer.
The hat (or cake) band is made by first cutting a strip with tabs on each side (see directions). Next I layered the Eyelet Border file around the band for depth. The pieces are finished with leaves and flowers from the Craft Room.
Think of the endless possibilities for embellishing these two pieces. These pieces are sure to brighten someone’s day and help to usher in spring. You might even add a little bird into your hat.
