October is all about Halloween and the cute costumes and spooky décor mean lots of photos will be taken. Although it will be hard to do, choose your favorites for this October calendar page.
This page has a few unique elements to it. First, is the giant pumpkin. Use the Pazzles Pen Tool to draw an outline of the pumpkin layers and then stack them onto each other to create your background.
The second major piece of this layout is the stitched spider web. The file includes spider web lines for drawing and for the Piercing Tool. My recommendation is to put your paper on your mat face down and draw the spider web on the back of the paper so you have a guide to follow. If you have the Piercing Tool, go ahead and pierce the holes as well. If you don’t have the Piercing Tool, go ahead and draw the piercing x pattern on the back of your page and then use a needle to poke all the holes.
Now for the stitching; when you open the file you will see a stitching pattern with numbers that looks kind of like a dot to dot. I’ve included numbering for the first several stitches to get you started with the process. Start on the back of the page and stich through to the front at number 1, then just work your way around the web following the numbers and making sure that all of the lines are covered with stitching. You’ll notice number 2 has smaller numbers next to it. That’s because you go back into that same hole for each of those numbers as well. If this is all too technical, just do your own thing on the stitching and it will come out great. The back of your paper will be lumpy so use dimensional foam dots to mount it on the background piece of paper.
