Summer Card

Raised near the coast, I always felt that sea is a part of me. The bright sun, slippery sand, crawling crabs, surf boards bring in the spirit of bright sunny day. The card designed is a step card beautifully decked up with different elements that long you to go back to the beach. I opted for a cardstock from Lawn Fawn – water color series just so that all the elements will pop up and the base will not overpower the design. To create three projections we need to attach the last card base separately at the end as I wanted a long card with a good height.  Also every projected layer has absolutely adorable objects to bring in the warmth of summer.

Can you believe it, every tiny element used in this card is from the Pazzles library and they just fit perfectly! I used different types of patterned paper to bring in a flavor of design and not make it plain! I really like it when the objects have different layers so that they pop up. I also used distress inks for the first layer of waves, and did a little bit of shading to the tree. Layered designs will always help create a definition to the entire project and I just love them. I guess my favorite is the surf boards in this design!

You can give this gorgeous card to a friend who loves the sea or may be to your partner to remind him/her that it’s time for a quick holiday! I just loved making this card and I can’t wait to go home and have a day out with my family at the beach. I must confess more than anything the foam lined water touching your feet is the best feeling of a summer!
