St. Patty’s Day Hat Decoration

With St. Patty’s Day right around the corner I thought this would be a cute decoration. With green beer and the luck of the Irish, it’s definitely a festive holiday to celebrate.

I started with the Paper Snowman Hat file from the Pazzles Craft Room Library and modified it to get the look I wanted. I cut out and embossed all the hat pieces. Then I did the print and cut on the shamrocks, which are also from the Craft Room Library.

Then with the pen tool, draw Happy St. Patty’s Day and cut out the labels. Now, glue the smaller label to the large label and glue on the tiny shamrocks.I took the two larger hat pieces and use a paintbrush and curve them so it will form sort of a cone shape when both tabs are glued together. Bend the tabs outwards from the smaller hole so the hat is standing upright. Then, glue the circle with the hole in it so the top of the tabs are first, getting it as close to the hat sides as possible. Then  glue the other circle with a hole in it to the other side to cover the tabs. Next fold the top tabs down towards the inside and glue the circle to the tabs. I used black ribbon and glued it to the top of the brim and then added the buckle. I used foam tape and adhered the label to the top of the hat. I made the front and backs of the shamrocks and glued them together so they look finished on both sides. Now use the foam tape and adhered them to the brim of the hat. I rolled the stems so they lay nicely. That’s it and Erin Go Bragh!
