Multimedia Decor Project with Painted Canvas and 3D Foam Flowers
I have wanted to make a hot mess canvas project ever since I first heard of the concept. I was a bit intimidated by it at first, because I don’t use paint very often. But I have been making a lot of foam flowers, and thought it would be a very nice piece of room décor to combine them with a Hot Mess Canvas project. Out of that came this beautiful Hot Mess Floral Vase! If I can do this, I’m sure you can too! You just might get addicted to making foam flowers just as I have!
A Fantastic Entry Level Painting Project
Hot mess canvases are nearly fool-proof and even if you have never painted before, you can definitely be successful making one! The whole reason they are called a “hot mess canvas” is that, it is SUPPOSE to be a mess! All the “mistakes” you’d worry about like accidentally blending colors together or painting outside the edges are exactly what you NEED to do for a hot mess canvas. Creating the colorful base is easy enough you can get your kids involved too! They also have so many different applications. You can check out these two other hot mess canvas projects here on the Pazzles Craft Room for a few more examples.
Gorgeous Foam Flowers
I have been making foam flowers for a while now. I love the soft dimensional shape that is so similar to a real flower. Using inks you can make them in virtually any shade and as you can see I have been able to create a huge variety of floral shapes. You WILL become addicted to making these flowers! I have included instructions on how to make each flower you see in the downloadable .pdf included at the end of this blog.
Adapt to Any Season or Decor
This makes a beautiful piece of decor in your home and can be adapted to any season by changing the colors and types of flowers. You could do a whole vase of beautiful red or white roses, or some oranges, browns and yellows for fall. This would hot mess floral vase would also make a lovely gift!
Hope you have fun making this hot mess floral vase!
