DIY Lantern Box
The idea of this lantern came to me when I wanted to start decorating my living room for the Season Ramadan holy month which is very well-known for its colored lanterns to decorate the houses & streets here in Egypt.
Use for An Outdoor Campout or Indoor Blanket Fort
While I used it for this, it would also be a wonderful item to create for the kids to use outside while playing this summer. They can have pretend campouts, hunt monsters, look for worms or so many other things to make a delightful time for playing. If you are unable to go outside, then this is perfect for building a blanket tent to sit inside and read, color, or just talk with your little ones.
Vellum Sides Allow A Tea Light to Shine Through
I used the gold mirror cardstock & the colored vellum in red color & used red cardstock after embossing it with some oriental embossing folder.
Lined with colored vellum and light with a battery operated tea light.
Use card stock and your cutting machine create this lantern which can be a stand-alone item with light inside or combined with others on a ribbon as a string of Lanterns.
Warning: Only use LED Tea Lights. DO NOT use regular candle tea lights.
Supplies used:
Gold mirror cardstock
Vellum
Colored cardstock
Embossing folder
3M Double sided tape
E6000 glue
