Customized Rhinestone Spirit Wear

School spirit day is every Friday at my daughter’s school. Red is the color and their mascot is an owl. I must say though I’m not too fond of their t-shirt designs. She is very girly and loves bling , so I decided to customize a tank top for her using the Pazzles Rhinestones Kit. I love that we can transform our images into something custom , unique and blingy. Watching the Creating Rhinestone Designs video has really made it easy to understand the process of creating with rhinestones.

Make A Wish Birthday Card

Winter reminds me of snowflakes and mittens. With this in mind I got an idea to create a winter birthday card. I started with a 5" x 7" base card,  and then went ahead and created a scalloped border using the making scallops video. The video makes it so easy to create any size scalloped borders. I used the Mittens cutting file found in the Craft Room Library and created an outline for the mittens. I also created two basic circles and printed the Make A Wish sentiment.

Cut And Paste Sketches: Bird ...

I love to add lots of layers to my cards with dimensional foam dots and embellishments, but the downfall is that they often are too chunky to send in the mail. Today's sketch can be made thick with dimensional dots and trims, or kept thin for mailing. The center circle is a cut out of the top paper so that the paper underneath shows through. I think this card would be beautiful in a monotone/ombre color palette or with a grungy vintage feel. Make it whichever style you'd like and give it your own special touch.

Need 4 Speed Cutting Collection: ...

My son loved his little cars when he was younger. He always pretended the cars were driving really fast and the police pulled them over. He played with them almost every day, and we rarely left the house without at least one in his pocket. But this too shall pass…ho hum. We recently cleaned out his toy box and I found all his beloved cars at the very bottom. He was hesitant to get rid of them but he also said, “I don’t really play with them anymore”. So when I saw the Need 4 Speed Cutting Collection I knew right away what I was going to do with it! I purchased a 12x12 shadow box, took the back off, laid it face down and filled it with his most favorite cars. I used vinyl to cut the files out, layering them as I went and applied it to the glass front of the shadow box. He was so happy and even got a little sentimental when I gave it to him. I hope it provokes those feelings every time he sees it.

Barrel Of Monkeys Birthday Banner

The best projects in my opinion are the ones that have the biggest impact, but don’t take a lot of time to create. That’s just the kind of project this is. These cute monkeys make a great card or party banner for any event. I’m sure you have a favorite monkey in mind who would go bananas to receive it, so get to it!

February Challenge Reminder

Have you had a chance to play along with our February challenge? I'll admit the Bendi card idea was new to me and now I cannot wait to try it. As a reminder the February challenge is to use the Bendi Card Large or Bendi Card Small files in the Craft Room to create a card. In the January 5, 2014 Klo's Classroom, Klo showed how to create a bend-fold base from written instructions. She also showed how to change lines and have a little more fun with the file. We have a few beautiful samples to share with you from the Pazzles Design Team. Melin Beltran

Coffee Cup Circle Card

I wanted to create a special birthday card for a friend who loves coffee. I decided to create her card using the coffee theme. I used the Scallop Sunshine cutting file, Coffee Cup and the Let It Snow file, all of which can be found in the Craft Room Library. I enlarged the sunshine cutting file to 6 inches and mirrored and welded it to create a shaped card.

Cut And Paste Sketches: Away ...

Maybe it's the seven straight days of rain, or the sight of my dead yard, but I am itching to go someplace sunny and warm. It likely won't be happening soon, but hopefully I'll eventually have the perfect pictures for this layout. For now I'll have to look through photos of past vacations and dream of flip flops and beach towels. If a vacation is not in your near future, switch out the airplane for another embellishment and use it for pictures of a busy little boy or a family day trip. The bottom of this layout is created by folding the long scored strips into pleats and then gluing them together.

Rhinestone Sign And A Giveaway

We love finding new products that cut on the Inspiration! Last year Chris and Klo discovered Rhinestone Resin Sheets from The Buckle Boutique. They cut beautifully and add sparkle to any project. Hop over to The Buckle Boutique Blog to see some really fabulous uses for these sheets. People have decorated their phones, their wedding invitations and even their shoes with Buckle Boutique bling.

Shadow Box Book Card

One of the trends I saw at CHA (Craft & Hobby Association Show) this year was altered books. There were so many different variations of these that I loved. I saw many old books with pictures and journaling painted right over the text. I saw mini albums made of old book bindings and pages covered with paint and gesso to make a blank slate. Altered books were everywhere and I've had book projects on the brain ever since. Today's project is a combination card and shadow box that is shaped like a small book. I've created the book file for you and filled it with a fairy scene. The bits and pieces of the scene are all existing Craft Room Library files, however I've pulled them into the project file and sized them accordingly for you.

Customized Patterned Paper Valentines

One of my favorite things to do with my Inspiration Studio software is make my own custom patterned paper. I first change my mat size to 8.5 x 11 because that’s the size of my printer. I then import files I'd like to use. The one I used here is Heart and Bow from the Craft Room Library. I removed the bow, leaving just the heart. I thickened my lines, duplicated it several times in different line colors and stacked them slightly askew. Then I grouped and duplicated them, made some bigger, and some smaller placing them all over the page and rotating a few in different directions. I then resized some hearts very small, multiplied them, filled them in the different colors, and added them to the spaces as filler. When my design was complete I just printed it out on white cardstock using the borderless option on my printer. I really enjoy being able to make my own custom paper designs.

Heart Shaped Box

We introduced our team up with Spellbinders at CHA Winter this past January and the response has been fantastic. We are thrilled that you are finding inspiring ways to use the Spellbinders Digital Dies. Design Team member Tara Brown created several samples for the Spellbinders booth and her work drew a crowd. Her creations are amazing and I wanted to share one of her projects with you that is perfectly suited for Valentine's Day week.

Glamour Girl Collection: WPC, AI ...

As a young girl I used to love to sneak into my grandma's bathroom and look at all of her old fashioned Avon perfume bottles. She had so many of them with just a drop or two of perfume left in them. I didn't dare pick them up, but I would run my fingers over the edges to try and pick up some of the scent. Her old fashioned vanity set seemed so glamorous to me. We've named this pretty paper vanity set Glamour Girl and hope it will inspire you to create for the glamour girls in your own life!

This school supply inspired valentine can be tied to the back of the teacher' chair and filled with treats After the holiday he/she can use it to hold notes or paperclips.

Office Folder Valentine Mailbox

I loved Valentine's Day as a kid. Waiting for candy and cards to fill my carefully decorated cereal box adorned with pink and red hearts was such fun! My favorite was waiting to play "Heads up Seven Up" during our classroom party. Those are truly treasured memories. Create this file folder Valentine and let coworkers fill it with Post-It note greetings. It's a perfect mailbox for the office. Don't forget to check and see if "You Got Mail"!

Hanging Heart Valentine Box

Create a special box to have at home to share love notes with family members. You don't have to have it out just for Valentine's Day, rather leave it up all year and once a week/month, have a special family night to share with each other.

Tic Tac Toe Valentine

Tic tac toe game valentine. Put a personalized note inside with the Xs and Os and tuck the heart shaped tab closure to close the envelope.

Pick a special person to be your Valentine and create this little belly band card to wrap your sentiments of love in.

Treat Cups

Heart Treat Cup

This fun little cup is very quick and easy to make. You just need to fold and glue, then add a special treat. I chose to use just a solid card stock and then use twine to put the tag on.

Love Notes Mailbox

Here is a mailbox, just in time for Valentine's Day or as a special box to pass "Love Notes" back and forth between family members year round. It would also be great to add to a wedding table for envelopes.

Steampunk Card

Hello friends, Melin here with you today sharing a masculine Valentine card. I used some Gold to go along with this month’s challenge to use Gold in your Valentine Card. Here is what I came up with. I started by cutting out my card base in kraft cardstock. My finished card size is 5 x 6.5”. I then cut a black mat, and then a kraft mat. On top of that I used all designer papers from the DCWV Industrial Chic Stack. I cut the majority of the pieces out in plain white cardstock. Then I inked and colored in the pieces with my various inks as well as a gold marker.

Love Is In The Air ...

There are so many wonderful cutting files in the Craft Room Library that I have come to the conclusion that there are simply not enough hours in the day to play. But that doesn’t stop me trying! I love the themed cutting collections and this is where I found the adorable Hot Air Balloon shape for my Valentine card. Once I imported the Hot Air Balloon cutting file from the On the Move Collection, I began to choose my papers. Sometimes this is the hardest part of a project! I decided to replace the pennants with punched hearts, so I removed them from my design. I then duplicated the image and moved it to the side of my visual mat and I rotated the balloon slightly to give more interest to the card. I welded the elements and then made an outline. I drew a rectangle box below and welded together the top half of the balloon and the rectangle to create my shaped card. I duplicated, mirrored and welded my shape to create my folded base card. (See Making Shaped Cards video tutorial). I cut out and adhered my cloud patterned paper to my base card. I then cut out some clouds out of white cardstock using the Heart Cloud cutting file and inked the edges in blue. I assembled all the layers of my balloon to the card.
