Cake Pop Flowers

Cake-Pop-Flower-Collars-JWrightSometimes, I get inspiration for a project by the simplest of the things. I found the Layered Yellow Flower cutting file from the Craft Room Library and wasn’t sure how I wanted to use it. The other afternoon while watching my 13 yr old daughter making cake pops in the kitchen, inspiration came to me!

I thought it would be nice to make some flower collars for her cake pops. So, off I went to my Pazzles Inspiration Creative Cutter, while she finished decorating the cake pops.

There are several different layers to the Layered Yellow Flower but I used the two largest flowers and cut them out of my double sided patterned paper.

Once I cut them out, I carefully removed them from my cutting mat. I then made a slit from one of the petals to the middle, overlapped one of the petals to the adjacent petal and glued them together. (Try and find two similar shaped petals to overlap, and trim if necessary). I curled all the petals using a bone folder.

I made a hole in the center of each bloom using a hole punch. Then I glued two blooms together out of coordinating patterned paper. I added a dab of glue at the top of the stick and threaded the blooms to beneath the cake pops to secure them.
