Loading your mat

Step1 I get an array of calls throughout the week with questions about the Inspiration. While some of the questions are easy—or easy to me because I use it almost daily. I have to step back and remember that there are a lot of Inspiration users out there with a very wide scale of expertise and knowledge levels. I think it’s interesting that just this week I got a question on how to load the mat. I thought to myself that it’s been almost two years since I started using the Inspiration. I also remember my first time using it here in our craft room and being a bit nervous. My friend Amanda here in the office can even confirm that it took a little push from her to get me to use the Inspiration after being a Pro user for so long. She gave me the manual, set the machine up for me and there I was…on my own.

To get started of course I first had to load my mat. I liked the fact the platform of the Inspiration had nice guide marks that helped me understand how my mat needed to be positioned before I actually loaded my mat. Once I got the mat into the Inspiration, I realized how easy the process is and now its second nature to me. I love how easy it is to load my mat into the Inspiration. With just a simple press of a button my mat is loaded into the correct position and ready to cut.

You will always want to remember that in order to load the mat properly you will need to have the mat pressed up against the rollers—don’t be afraid to apply some pressure when doing this. The combination of the rollers and grips together catch the mat and pull it properly into place. Once the mat is loaded the Load/Unload button will light up. It’s important to note that this doesn’t necessarily mean that your mat is successfully loaded; it just means that you have selected the Load feature and the Inspiration has attempted to load the mat. If you feel that the mat isn’t in the proper location in the machine or, that it isn’t in far enough. Start the process over again by pressing the Load/Unload button to eject your mat, and then attempt the process again to ensure it’s been loaded properly. Wouldn’t it be nice if everything in life was as easy as loading your mat?
