This is so Distressing!!

But, I’m not really upset because my paper is what’s distressed. I recently wrote an article and created a project for a magazine that featured the Pazzles Distressing Tool. I fell in love with the distressed look all over again. I realized that distressing is a whole lot more than a bit of sandpaper on some white core cardstock.

I used to think of distressing as being somewhat imprecise but with the distressing tool I can be very detailed. Because I can be so detailed, I can get really creative. Did you know you can distress knotholes in a wood fence? How about torn knees on a pair of jeans? You can also distress names and phrases in any script you want.

When using the Distressing Tool the key things to remember are Fill, Outline and Repeat. Our Inspiration Studio Software is so amazing; the Engraving Fill feature and the Outline tool are absolutely indispensible when distressing. I have always loved the buttons on the Inspiration but having the Repeat button so handy is just….Inspired!

Of course, an awesome tool needs awesome paper to go with it. All of the projects pictured here> and in the tutorial were from Core’dinations Core Color lines. I was motivated to keep creating because of the variety of colors. I think my favorite was the White Wash line….no wait, maybe it was the Chocolate Box colors…. or Black Magic…oh, I can’t decide!
