Have you ever gone to the party store to buy paper goods for a party? I seem to want to take things up a notch especially for graduation and baby events. I have found myself wandering the aisles looking at all the great paper plates, napkins, cups and banners. I might even put them in my cart and then…I pull most of it back out again. It is so expensive! It also seems like I can never find the right colors of paper goods to match the graduation colors.
I usually end up trying to use all solid colored plates, napkins and cups. At least those aren’t AS expensive. I think the cups are the items that always cause me to hesitate. 8 cups for $4.00??? Ouch! I decided this year that I was going to have some fun cups but I was not going to spend a lot of money paying for something that wasn’t exactly what I needed. Happily, I have a wonder machine at my disposal- my Inspiration- so I was up to the challenge.
I used 2 sizes of Dixie brand cups but this will work with any paper cup size. I cut one apart for a pattern, scanned the image in and made my own cup covers. Once I had the basic cup cover designed, I had loads of fun thinking of ways to dress it up. Why don’t you watch my video to see how it is done! I have included the cutting files for the 2 Dixie cups I used so if you want to use those sizes, you are ready to go.
Hmm….I think I have some odds and ends of Christmas and Thanksgiving cups left. Wonder what party I can dream up so that I can use them too? 🙂
I am learning something new every day and enjoying every minute of it!!
Thanks Chistine I hope to try this out.
