Engraving on Sequins

Engraved Sequins Happy Sunflower Card

We have had a lot of requests for more projects using the Engraving Tool. I knew I wanted to do a video on it but I wanted it to be different than what I had done in the past. When I am stuck for ideas, I like to wander the aisles of the craft store to see what inspires me. Recently, I discovered that sequins are coming back in style in a big way, literally. I saw sequins that were over 2 inches in diameter. They come in all kinds of fun colors, so naturally I grabbed a few packages in a variety of colors and sizes and started experimenting.

Engraved Sequins Happy Sunflower Card Heart DetailI found that the blue pearl ones I bought were, sadly, coated with a plastic that just made the engraving look messy. I was excited, however, to find that the silver and gold engraved beautifully!! I have fallen in love with my Engraving Tool all over again. I have only begun to tap into the ideas I have come up with.

I am so excited about the cute card I made with engraved gold 20mm-sized sequins. I hope this project inspires you to grab a few packages and try engraving on them too. They are inexpensive so experiment away and have fun!!

P.S. Don’t forget to download the cutting file for the Happy Day card too. 🙂

I am always a little hesitant when using my engraving tool. Since I tried engraving on acrylic at a retreat, I’m not as skittish. The only thing I haven’t tried engraving on is metal. Now i am going out to find the large sequins to play with. Thanks for the inspiration, Christine.

Great video Chris. Thank you. I have some gold sequins and can’t wait to try this.

p.s. did anyone else notice that the “Y” did not ‘inline before outline’? 😉

This is so great, and I love that you showed the machine in action. I’m a new Pazzles owner and now I absolutely must integrate this sequin idea onto my Christmas cards, this gives me the confidence to try. Thank you!
