Fall Pen Tool Card Rewind

It has been hot here in Idaho and the forecast predicts temperatures in the 90’s for the next 7 days. Even so, the breeze this morning reminded me that fall is right around the corner. I love the colors and themes of Fall! You can never have too many pumpkins and leaves as far as I am concerned. Today I wanted to take a look back at a Tips and Tricks blog I did exactly one year ago. I know many of you have gotten the new Pazzles Pen Tool recently. This Fall Flip It card would be a great project to showcase your pen tool skills. Not ready for Fall quite yet? Change the colors to make a bright, summer tree. You could even add some juicy red apples!

In an earlier blog, I promised to show more projects made using the ‘Flip It’ method. Every time I use it for a card project I am excited about the possibilities all over again! By using this method you can write on both sides of a project in one easy flip of the paper. Plus you don’t need to follow any complicated steps to line everything up.

Imagine not having to write the sentiment or poem on a separate piece of paper. You don’t have to glue it to the inside of the card hoping you get it all lined up either. You can add fancy pen work with the Inspiration Pen Tool where ever you want on the card.

I also trimmed away about an inch of the front of the card, that way the pen work on the inside of the card shows on the side. You can do this by drawing and cutting another strip of paper to glue to the side of the card and sometimes that is the look you want. But the Flip It method can save you a lot of time and it has a beautiful look all its own!

This video lesson will show you how to make a side fold card using the Flip It method. You will learn how to use the pen tool to write not only on the outside front of the card but also the inside of the card. The Flip It method allows you to accomplish this without removing the mat from the Inspiration. Rather you simply flip the card piece over, secure in place and add the inside sentiment to the card.
