DIY Pull-Up Accordion Lantern Card
This fun interactive project is sure to brighten someone’s day! It folds flat to fit in an envelope.
When the recipient pulls up on the ribbon, the card expands, accordion style, to look like a hanging lantern. You can add a small battery operated tea light in the center, and hang the card on a lamp stand to provide some subtle lighting for a special event.
Beautiful Decorations
There is a lovely doily included for the inside of the card, as well as layers for a 3D flower on the center of the top of the card. This flower helps keep the sides in place. The layers can be flat it it will be mailed.
The back side of the card is where you can add a personal note or sentiment and your signature.
Customizable and Room for 24 Sentiments or Decorative Elements
Each of the side accordion panels may be decorated as you prefer. Included in the cutting file is one panel that says “Happy Birthday”. You can change that sentiment in your cutter software to any sentiment of your choice. There is room for 24 sentiments, or decorative elements of your choice. I added decorative paper to give the project a festive look for a birthday.
Folds Flat for Mailing and Included Envelope in Cutting File
The flattened card fits in a 6.5”x5.5” envelope for mailing. The cutting file for the envelope is included with the project.
