Days Until Home DIY Deployment Countdown Jar
These days we have all become a lot more familiar with what it feels like to be separated from loved ones. However, if you have a loved on in the military you probably have a bit more experience than most! When my significant other was away for several weeks for training, I made him this countdown jar to help us both get through. Each day he could take a note out to read which gave him something to look forward to, reminded him of home, and helped him countdown the days all in one. He told me he took one out every morning first thing and it did really help!
Use for Anyone Spending Time Away From Home
I used this for someone on deployment, but it works for any occasion someone is away from home for a while. If you want to help someone countdown the days until coming home, then this jar is for you!
Fill With Notes or Treats
I filled my jar with little notes but I have also included a rhyming tag option for edible treats instead. You could fill it with their favorite candy – one for each day that they are away. If you go the notes route I used inspiring quotes, scripture verses, favorite memories, inside jokes, and things that I loved about him. I put them all in a word document and printed them out. I then cut them in to strips and folded them.
Customize and Decorate However You Wish
The colors are completely customizable from the vinyl to the ribbons. The ribbons also serve the purpose of holding the tag. If you want to get even less feminine, you can use twine instead. Or you can go full on girly with lace and pinks depending on who your jar is for!

Mason Jar
Pazzles wall vinyl in black or color of your choice
Black pen and pen tool
Cardstock in color of your choice
Ribbon in colors of your choice
