Organizer Number with Pocket
Wishing to eliminate miscommunication about where to find or put shelf foods and household supplies inspired this project.
I was thinking of a creative way to be able to know how to refer quickly to the doors and drawers we have in our “membership warehouse” room (*wink*) rather than describing left, middle, or right, or, especially, to help pinpoint which one of 12 drawers in three file cabinets we’re telling one of us we’re sure that awesome jam from Aunt Jenny is located in.
Add Post-It Notes to the Pocket
We had a mini-meeting and decided to use letters then numbers for the file cabinet drawers (1ABC, 2ABC, etc) and numbers on the pantry doors.
I was going for a farmhouse and flowers look so I chose a flowery thick cardstock for the pantry numbers. I also created a pocket to hold sticky notes from the bottom of the numbers so that notes for what should be on the shopping list are at the ready. These just cut out and go up so quickly you’ll be organized in a flash. Use the software to outline the letters or numbers and cut out in two layers, or make them with just one layer.
Choose Your Favorite Font
You could also choose different letters and numbers shapes and styles from the many choices in the Pazzles Craft Room. These can be adhered to the doors and drawers in several ways including rolled masking tape (I find horizontal placement on the backs of the numbers and letters is best to prevent them “rolling” down the door or drawer), removable double-sided tape, or Command hooks stickers.
You could also make these from vinyl, hand-write or draw with the Pazzles Pen Tool on the letters or numbers the contents of the drawer or cupboard, or even use chalkboard paper or vinyl, or dry-erase vinyl to provide a non-permanent labeling option.
Make these as big as will fit on a 12 by 12 cardstock or vinyl sheet for visual impact, and consider adapting for toy bins, kids’ dresser drawers, etc.
Supplies:
12 by 12 inch cardstock in choice of colors (optional alternatives: chalkboard paper or vinyl, dry erase vinyl)
Masking tape, double-sided tape or Command hooks stickers
3 by 3 inch sticky notes
