DIY Etched Jars
If you haven’t yet tried glass etching cream to create DIY items I highly recommend it! This is new to me and I am now hooked, with my mind coming up with so many projects I want to do with this process. I was nervous because the etching cream is so very caustic but, with care and preparation, you can get really great results!
Use for Bathroom, Kitchen, or Gift Jars
This project is adaptable to other types of jars than the spice jars I used, and is a great way to repurpose jars from foods you regularly use, such as spices, jams/jellies, etc.<
Use these to store a few cotton swabs on your bathroom counter, to hold your toothbrush, or give them to a friend for use at their desk or by their kitchen sink with a small bunch of fresh flowers accompanied by a special note. Make a set of three that coordinate and incorporate some shape that goes with the theme in your space, such as leaves for a bathroom that has leaves in the wallpaper. Make one with hearts as in the file and fill it with red hots for a Valentine’s Day gift or fun anniversary gift to your spouse. Place a few pieces of sea glass or a few flat marbles in the bottom when using as a vase for a pretty effect.
