DIY He Is Risen Sign
I wanted to do something for Easter decor that was more about the real reason for Easter, rather than the cute bunnies, chicks, eggs, and candy so I browsed the Pazzles Craft Room Library for files I could use to make something new.
Uses a Cork Plant Saucer for the Base
I also wanted to use multiple crafting supplies on the same piece and so, with some lace given to me by a local crafter and the cork plant saucer I had leftover from another project this little Easter project was born.
This was made with an 8-inch cork plant saucer, some cardstock, lace, a couple of pearl floral pins, and a few staples (though the staples are just for one version and not required to complete the project). This could be made with a smaller 6-inch cork plant saucer or with a larger 10-inch cork plant saucer.
Hang Using Lace or Ribbon
Other types of lace ribbon or satin ribbon could be substituted for the lace ribbon type used in the photos of the project, and it might look cute with two more strands of coordinating ribbon either for the entire length of ribbon of the hanger or with added ribbon just at the point where the pins are. Instead of ribbon, some craft wire could be used as the hanger; try curling the ends loosely around a pencil for a flowy look similar to curling ribbon.
Complete in 15 Minutes
Completing this project with the glue-it-all-together method only takes around 15 minutes or less, but making it with the DIY staples method takes a little bit longer.
Supplies:
8 inch natural cork plant saucer (looks like a big soft drink coaster)
About 24 inches of cream lace ribbon
Two floral pins or push pins of your choice
8.5 by 11 inch cardstock in black, light green, and white
3 by 3 inch scrap of gold metallic cardstock
Crafter’s tape
Glue pen
Craft glue
Wire cutters
Sharpie in metallic or peach
Optional:
Staples
Jeweler’s pliers
