Winter Wonderland

16956574We’ve been blessed with an abundance of snow this past week. Nothing is better than a white Christmas. I tell my friend Amanda here at work that the snow is perfect, because it helps Santa’s sleigh deliver toys! She laughs at me, but I think little by little I’m reminding her we never outgrow the magic of Christmas in our hearts, no matter how old we are. On Christmas Eve when we walk home as a family from my In-Laws, my significant other still helps me look for Santa’s sleigh in the sky. I remember asking my grandpa when I was a little girl if Santa was real. In my little child way I would ask is he as real as you Grandpa? Could I touch him with my hand? His answer for me was that Santa is as real as you want him to be. I’ve never forgot that. This year my little girl who is now in Junior High is giving me the “look” when I ask if her Christmas list is done for Santa. Even though I catch her rolling her eyes, come Christmas Eve…even she looks for Santa’s sleigh in the winter sky. Christmas is truly the magic we hold in our hearts. I know we have lots of moms participating in the craft room. What are some of the things you tell your own kids who are getting too old to believe in Santa? Plus, I’m not the only one who still believes in Santa right?

My grandpa Charlie was my Santa. The sweetest nicest guy. Like yours Klo, he always had a candy of some sort for me. I just loved that man so much! He made EVERYTHING special.I thank God for sparing his life in WWII. Because of that, he made such a difference in mine.

Wow Santa will always live on in my heart and in my memories. I have a 6 year old who believes in Santa and my 16 year old has outgrown the belief of him =(.
As he was getting older and started to question if Santa was real or not, I would say to him “Of course he is!” I would go to the extremes of having my good friend dress up as Santa and come over in the middle of the night on Christmas eve just to wake my son up!! Eventually at the age of 13, he realized that Santa was mommy & daddy!

I will always have that child inside me waiting to see Santa fly over the house!
