Using the Pause Feature on Your Inspiration

Last week we touched base on the function of the repeat button. I was happy to hear that you enjoyed the blog and actually got a bit more insight as to the benefits of using this feature. This week I thought it would be beneficial to talk about the pause button and how this can help you as you’re creating your wonderful projects.

I was wondering what advantages come from using the pause button on the Inspiration.

There are a lot of reasons that the pause button comes in handy. While I don’t use this feature a lot, there have been a few times it’s saved my paper and as you know paper these days isn’t cheap! The pause button is great if you need to quickly adjust the blade length. I’ve bounced between cutting vinyl and paper and have forgotten to extend my blade out for paper. I just quickly press the pause button and make the necessary adjustments. It’s also great to check and make sure that your designs are cutting through completely which is especially nice if you’re working on a large paper lace that may take a few minutes to cut. That way you won’t have to cut the project a second time. Also, have you ever been creating a project that requires you to use different tools, and by mistake realized you have the wrong tool in the Inspiration? The Pause button is extremely handy to quickly put the correct tool in that you need to complete the project. If you’re like me you have limited crafting space. Even though I have a designated place for my Inspiration, at times I’ve found there’s not enough clearance in the back of my cutter for my mat. So very quickly I can press pause and move my machine appropriately to ensure clearance of the mat. I find that this happens a lot when I go to use the 12×24 mats. You’re going to need to make sure that the mat has enough space that it won’t hit up against anything as the Inspiration is cutting your project. At times it would be handy if life had a pause button just like our Inspirations!

Like you said…it has saved expensive paper from being ruined. There can be many reasons why this could happen….but the pause button comes to the rescue!

I accidentally started cutting a box with both colors selected. I use the second color to change to the Pen tool with an inkless pen for the fold lines. I was able to pause after the cuts were made and change to the pen tool saving my printed page.
