What is That Sound?

Have you ever been cutting a project and all of a sudden the Inspiration will make a shuddering sound and perhaps a “pop” noise that goes along with it? The reason you would experience this is usually incorrect pressure but can also be caused by your blade length. The reason for the shuddering is that as the blade is moving across your paper it’s digging too deep in to the mat and not allowing the blade to glide across the surface and rotate correctly inside of the blade holder. If there is too much downward force it will dig the blade in to mat causing the blade to get stuck. Meanwhile the motor to the Inspiration is still trying to move the blade to cut the project, this can produce a shuddering noise as the blade tries to move forward but is getting stuck. Here are some troubleshooting steps you’ll want to try. First, check the pressure you’re using. You will want to start with a low pressure such as 15 and then increase in increments of 2 until it cuts through. Next, check to make sure that you have the blade set on a 2 or 2 ½ . If the blade is extended out too far you’ll experience similar issues. When all else fails and you’re not able to resolve the problem, call me directly here at Pazzles. Together we will be able to come up with a resolution to get you back up and running in no time.
