InVue Software Update

Today a new InVue software update has gone out. The next time you open your InVue software the update will be automatically applied. Most of the changes this time were small cosmetic changes or bug fixes. Here is a list of the new features. Transparent Lines show in Cut Control Panel: Previously a transparent line stayed transparent when you entered the Cut Control Panel. Now a transparent line will show up in the Cut Control Panel. If your shape has a color fill and a transparent pen line, the pen line will show up as the fill color in the Cut Control Panel. If your shape has a transparent fill color and a transparent line color, the line will show up as gray. Saved Entry in the Rotation Box: The entry box in the rotation feature will now remember the last number you entered. This is helpful when you are rotating many items at the same angle. The angle amount you enter will stay the same as you select each object until you enter a new angle rotation number.

Edit Tool Bar Overview: ...

We will be doing a general overview of the toolbar and learning the basics of using the different tools. Join us starting Sunday at  7pm (times are USA Central, Chicago Time). DIY Menu Planner Board

Organization Week: Menu Board Planner

It is a brand new year and time to get organized! Don’t huff and groan. I am going to start you off easy. I created a striking, modular Menu Board. Sit yourself down here at the hearth and I’ll teach you how to make one for your kitchen. It was wonderful to design my entire project in the Pazzles InVue Software. The software is a great tool for getting your ideas down “on paper” yet still be able to easily manipulate it and make notes. To play around with shapes, their sizes, and various fonts is a blessing for this non-artist. My metal sign measures 12 X 16 inches. In my InVue software, I created a new file measuring 12 X 24 inches. I chose and made shapes that represented the image in my head. Originally I was going to simply cut circles out of card stock for the days of the week. As my project evolved, I decided to use decorative bottle caps. Each letter representing the days of the week are cut from Pazzles Vinyl.

Organization Week: Garden Stakes

It’s that time of the year. The holidays are over, all the decorations are safely packed away, and the family has all gone home. If you are anything like me you have probably already broken half of your New Year’s resolutions. Now its time to organize, and this year I’m going to organize my garden. Every year my hubby plants my garden and always throws away the plant tags before I can get to them. This year with the help of the new InVue software and the Pazzles Craft Room I made these cute garden stakes.

Organization Week: DIY Home Calendar

Hello crafty friends, Melin here with you today sharing my calendar. Part of being organized for me means keeping better track of time. So I decided to create this calendar that will hang on my bulletin board. I started by using a standard 12" x 12" scrapbook page size. From there I laid out my concept with my software. I love being able to lay my project out in my software before I cut anything. It helps me figure out my die cut sizes as well as what pieces I will use. Once I laid it all out, I picked my papers. I started by cutting a base of the Doilie Frame cut file from the library. I then cut the Flourish Hardware, Royal Damask, Wire Dress Form and the Doilie Frame 2 all from the Craft Room Library.

One of the things that I love about my Pazzles is that I am able to use any true type font I have on my computer. There are so many things you can create with just letters. One day as I was cutting out a lot of separate letters I realized that the negative of the paper looked as fun as the positive. I had done the kind of title that you put the paper behind, but then as I had been looking at all the fun things people are doing everywhere with subway graphics, I realized that using it for the entire page background would be so much fun.

Vinyl is a creative way to say something unique in an entirely new way. If you have a friend getting married, a family member's birthday, or maybe you just want to decorate your own walls with a little personal message to someone you love, this idea is definitely the way to do it. I found this floating frame at my local Home Goods store. It worked perfectly for showcasing my project. Since my vinyl is sandwiched between two pieces of glass the finished product looks professional, and gift giving worthy. It couldn't have worked out more perfectly. It's amazing how cute of a project you can make for less than $10.00, and nothing says I love you more than homemade!

I get a kick out of the local coffee shops here in downtown Boise. I love when they have the gift shops attached so you can walk around sipping and shopping. The gifts are generally simple, and I always enjoy reading the silly greeting cards you can purchase. It’s always something unique you can’t find anywhere else. Do you ever notice when you’re out and about, that something will catch your eye that’s completely out of character for you to make, or buy, but you love it anyway? I noticed some simple greeting cards with basic shapes and sayings and it made me think, I should try creating something outside of my comfort zone.

No Class: January 11 or ...

There will be no class for the next 2 weeks. I'm still recovering my voice from my illness and it needs to have as much rest as possible for a few more weeks to completely heal. I'm so sorry for the delay in getting started up with the new year and look forward to seeing you in class soon. In the meantime, be sure and watch the videos and past classes. Also, if you haven't gone through the projects or gallery in awhile, now is a great time to catch up.
