Back To School Photo Props

It's that time of year again. Time to put on the new fall school clothes even though it is still 95 degrees outside, do your child's hair extra special and take that traditional first day of school photo. When I was a child, we held up the appropriate number of fingers to designate our new grade, but thanks to Pinterest, first day of school pictures have become much fancier. After the first day of school outfits have been planned, the next step is to cut out these first day of school photo props. We've got grades K-12 covered.

August Challenge Reminder

I'm really not sure how time keeps flying like it does, but the August Challenge is well under way. As a reminder, the theme this month is Getting Ready. Think about something you are preparing for: a new school year, a new job, a new stage of life, a vacation, or anything else that is on the horizon. Make something to help you get ready for whatever is coming your way. The Design Team has been busy creating with this theme in mind. Marjorie Eades is busy planning for the Pazzles Cruise and Crop and she designed this adorable travel binder to keep all her paperwork organized. This is such a clever idea and can be adapted for so many things.

The Speech Bubble Frames are sized for 4" x 6" photo frames and are perfect for an extra layer on a scrapbook layout. The Speech Bubble Sentiments are sized to fit on a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card. Of course you can resize any of the pieces to fit your project.

Mason Jar Printable Cards

New Inspiration Vue creative cutters are beginning to arrive all over the country! I'm so excited for you to try out the print and cut feature of your Inspiration Vue and fall in love with all that it can do. Today I've created a set of printable mason jar cards. Use the new print and cut feature to cut out the mason jars and attach them to the mason jar shaped card base. These mason jar printables can also be resized and used as tags or scrapbook layout embellishments. If this is your first print and cut project, please be sure to refer to the Quick Start Guide that came with your machine. It will walk you through the steps of using your cutter. If you are using the original Inspiration you can cut the mason jars out by hand or watch our tutorial video, How To Use Print & Cut on the Original Inspiration.

Mini Baby Album

Baby Mini Album

It's been a while since my babies were actual babies, but I get invited to lots of baby showers. I love to celebrate babies, and I love to tuck something handmade in with my gift. This mini album makes the perfect little something and can be customized in so many ways. Add a picture each month for baby's first year and give it to grandma for a brag book, or keep it as a memento for yourself. Switch it up and create only nine of the pages, so the mom to be can document her growing belly month by month. The mini album set includes tabbed pages and numbers up to 12 to add to the tabs. The Craft Room is full of baby themed cutting files, but I've included just a few more to use while embellishing the album. There is no right or wrong way to decorate this, just adjust it to fit your needs and have fun decorating each page.

World Flags

World Celebration Flags

There have been several times this year that I wished I had a set of paper flags representing many countries. First there was the Olympics, then the World Cup, and now the Tour De France. In between all of these world events, I was in charge of a Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet with a world traveler theme. The point is, I decided it was time to have a little world celebration and make up some of these country flags. Today's project includes 18 different world flags, and a bottle hanger medallion. Customize these for whatever team you are cheering for and celebrate! In order to make these "cutting friendly" I've left off some small details on a few of the flags. Australia, USA and Brazil all have small stars on them which will need to be drawn with the Pen Tool.

Watercolor Sketched Layout

I love the watercolor trend that is showing up everywhere right now. It's fairly easy to achieve this look with the help of my Inspiration. Although I can't doodle or freehand sketch to save my life, I do have the Pazzles Pen Tool. With the Pen Tool I can cheat and have the machine make my hand drawn designs. Instead of Kindergarten art, I get a professional looking sketch, which makes it easy to add water colored elements to my projects. Let me show you the steps I took to make this page.

Cut And Paste Sketches: File ...

I've mentioned before my love of paper started with office supplies and I admit I still love them. The back to school section of Target makes me giddy. Today's card was inspired by office supplies. This little file folder tab card would look even better held together with a big paperclip. Have fun with this design!

Easel Card Base Cutting Collection

Easel Card Cutting Collection

I love the look of fancy cards with unique card bases and lots of paper layers. I like to call these little mini masterpieces super cards. It's a card you make for an extra special occasion or for an extra special recipient. I love to make super cards, but I don't like to figure out the dimensions and folds of each new pattern. The first set of card bases I created, Fun Folds Cutting Collection, has been very popular as well as the rest of the card base collections. That tells me that you ladies like to make super cards too, but don't always like to measure and score. I created this newest set mostly for myself, but I'm happy to share with you as well. After some designing and measuring I've come up with the Easel Cards Cutting Collection. There are 10 different options and lots of layers to mix and match.

New Pazzles Accessory Products

Did you notice something new in the Pazzles store? Actually it is three new somethings! We are excited to release three new products designed to make cutting and drawing with your Inspiration even easier. Sometimes it's the little things that make a big difference, and we think these are some pretty cool little things! The Pen Tool Spacer, Spatula, and Fine Point Tweezers were developed by Pazzles Designers based on requests from customers. Pazzles Spatula Tool Lifting small designs from a very sticky mat can be a bit tricky. The Pazzles Spatula Tool is designed to take your fingernails out of the equation when lifting up your cut designs. The smooth angled edge glides along your mat, lifting your projects without tearing or curling.

Beautiful Layers With Spellbinders Digital ...

We have some fantastic projects to share today courtesy of the Pazzles Design Team. I asked Angie Contreras and Melin Beltran to share something they made with the Spellbinders Digital Die Collections, and their creations are beautiful. Angie used the Nestabilities Label 9 files to create a shaped base for her card. With several layers of nesting shapes, she was able to easily cut out the matching layering pieces as well. I love the fresh trendy shape and colors of this card.

Craft Room Maintenance

The Pazzles Craft Room will be down for maintenance Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from approximately 9:00 am (MST) to 1:00pm (MST). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Thank you for your patience!

A few simple DIY party decorations you can easily make multiples of. The rosettes and paper firework picks make great decorations for a table or porch. Utensil holders candy holders, and paper cones for popcorn or sparklers!

Cool Cars Cutting Collection

A dimensional car collection inspired by small town summer parades where all the classic cars roll down the street as the crowd cheers and waves. Includes 6 three-dimensional cars and assembly instructions!

Guest Designer Leslie Peppers

Please help us welcome our June Guest Designer Leslie Peppers. Father’s Day is slipping up on me so quickly! I don’t know where the month of May went, but suddenly we’re in June and summer’s right around the corner. I was inspired to create this card using the Pazzles Craft Room Library file Scallop and Lattice Borders. I cut the lattice border down to my card width using the scissors tool. The font used was Bernhard MT Condensed. I used a pattern paper and tore the bottom edge to use as a backing for my title. I finished it off with some chipboard elements. I have attached the cutting file for you, and I hope you enjoy!

Fishing Pole

The reel on this fishing pole pulls apart and is a box where you can tuck a small gift. Attach sweet notes from the kids on the back of each fish, or use them for candy or gift cards.

New Release of Spellbinders Digital ...

It's time to introduce another new set of Spellbinders Digital Cutting Collections. Eleven new Spellbinders Collections have been added to the Pazzles Online Store this past weekend including a few sunny beach sets perfect for summer crafts. For those who are just recently discovering these Spellbinders Cutting Collections, you can watch our Spellbinders Digital Dies by Pazzles introductory video showing all of the uses for these cutting files.

Backyard Bugz Cutting Collection: WPC, ...

Gather together a few junior bug explorers and celebrate summer in your backyard. The fascination of watching an ant hill busy at work, or collecting ladybugs in a jar, are childhood memories we all cherish. Our latest collection, Backyard Bugz Cutting Collection includes a several buggy characters, a bug jar and net, and a few titles for documenting your summer bug catching. For today's project I cut the net out at the largest size I could fit on a 12" x 12" piece of paper. I cut a separate layer in chipboard for a bit of stability.

Cut And Paste Sketches: Mighty ...

Scrapbook layout and card sketches are a great starting point for well designed, quick projects. Many sites offer sketch ideas, but they still involve measuring and hand cutting. I like to let my Inspiration do as much of the work as possible, so I often design my layouts and cards in the Inspiration Studio Software first and then cut them out. Today and every Tuesday I’ll be sharing these cuttable sketches with you in our Pazzles Cut And Paste Sketches series. You can expect to see single page layouts, double page layouts and cards, all ready for you to cut out and paste to your page or card base. You can use all of the pieces as is, or use just the design base and substitute your favorite ready made embellishments for the shapes. The layout I created for today's Cut And Paste Sketch is more of a finished layout, than a sketch, but you can certainly get rid of the title, crazy monkey and sneaky snake, and use the "bones" of the layout as a sketch. Have fun monkeying around with this page!
