InVue Software Update

Over the past few months we've been collecting your feedback on our new InVue software. Behind the scenes we've been fixing bugs and taking notes on your requests for new features. The addition of new features will be an ongoing project, but today we are releasing a new update for the InVue software. To access the update you simply need to open your software and the update will apply automatically. Here are some of the changes you will notice: Move By Action to Multiply: The Move By Button will now maintain the last value typed in. This makes it easier to use the move by feature to replicate the Multiply function. Select your object, set your distance in the Move By dialog box, select the clone button and click the "Clone" button to evenly space like objects a specific distance from each other. (Think of a row of identical dots all evenly spaced.)

Make A Monster Project Pattern

Pazzles Project Pattern: Make A ...

Just in time to delight your Halloween goblins and ghouls, we have a new Project Pattern: Make A Monster. You'll find all the monster parts you need to create a dozen or more little monster characters. Once they are designed, cut them out or print and cut them to make layout and card embellishments. These would make some pretty cute Halloween party invitations and decorations as well. For an introduction to our Project Patterns concept and instructions on using the files, please visit last month's Project Pattern release.

Halloween Tags

Halloween Treat Tags and Labels

As each day of September passes, it brings us closer to Halloween and my favorite spooky holiday celebrations. Today I've created some haunted Halloween treat tags and terrifying Halloween labels. Attach them to a bag of goodies and give them away to your favorite goblin or ghost. If you want to avoid the tricks, you have to be ready with the treats. This project includes four tags for paper piecing and four additional tags/labels for print and cut. The print and cut tags and labels were created with that process in mind, so they are not suitable for cutting out each piece. The Inspiration Vue makes it easy to cut them out, but you could also print them out and hand cut them.

Creative Title For Die-Cutters

Creative Titles Three Ways

I have a three foot stack of Thickers Alphabet stickers in my scrap room. They are a reminder of the dark days before Pazzles when I had to plan my titles around the fact that I had no E stickers left. Now I cut whatever title I want and have no limits on letters. We all know how to cut a basic title from cardstock. Layering cardstock colors and welding words can give you a different look to your title, but today I wanted to share with you a few other creative ideas for titles using your Inspiration and the new InVue Software. The first is a faux chalkboard look. Here's how I created this look in InVue: Type your text. Change the pen line and fill to black. Make sure your text is selected. Select the outline/inline option from the left sidebar. You will see fill and pen line colors represented within that box. Change your pen line to gray and your fill to black by dragging those colors from the color palette on the right up into the Outline/Inline color selections. Select inline with a setting of .04 and click preview. Click on the green arrow just below your text to accept the changes. Using black cardstock and a white pen, first draw the gray inlines with a white pen, then cut the black letters out. To give them an extra chalk effect dip a sponge in some white ink and then lightly rub it across the cut out letters to give them chalk smudges.

Happy Birthday Wood Sign

Birthdays are a big deal at my house. My mom always made birthdays special with a handmade decorated cake and our favorite box of sugary breakfast cereal waiting for us. It was the only time we got sugary cereal and it was a huge deal to open that box. I'm carrying on the big birthday celebration at my own house. When a birthday comes along we celebrate! I spotted this birthday sign idea on Pinterest a few years ago and I've wanted to make one. Vinyl week happens to coincide with my son's birthday month, so it was the perfect time to whip it up.

Pazzles Project Patterns

Baby Layout Project Pattern

One of the cool new features in the InVue software is our new Pazzles Project Patterns. You have to see this in action to understand the full possibilities, but let me assure you-it is awesome! The InVue software comes with four Project Patterns and we will be adding more each month. Essentially you open a Project Pattern and you see a sketch (layout or card). Several pieces of the sketch are "replaceable". You click on the replaceable shape and then select a predesigned coordinating image from a drop down menu. The image automatically replaces the selected shape and resizes the new shape to fit perfectly. Here is an idea of what can be done. When you open the project it will look like this:

Paper Purse Cutting Files

Paper Purses Gift Boxes

Several weeks ago one of my friends stopped by with a mason jar full of cookies. The gift was tied up with ribbons and a cute tag. It wasn't my birthday, or my anniversary. I wasn't sick or in need in any way. She just brought me cookies for no reason at all and it absolutely made my day! For this week's project I created two different paper purses. The completed purses measure around 6", but you can certainly resize them to fit whatever gift you choose to give. They are easy to assemble and you can customize them in so many ways.
