Life In Bloom Cutting Collection

The first of March usually marks the beginning of the winter thaw here in Idaho. This year it has been strangely mild and tulips are already starting the shoot out of the ground. Some of you in the US have had record breaking snow this year and your tulips are buried beneath two feet of snow. Either way, spring will come! Our latest cutting collection Life In Bloom captures all of the beauty of early spring and makes it easy to share the bits and pieces of the season that bring you joy. Cut out the individual layers or use these files for Print and Cut.

Shaped Number Notecards from Pazzles

Shaped Number Gift Tags

We're finishing up our typography week with Number Shaped Gift Tags. I love shaped cards and I know many of you have asked for more shaped cards in the Craft Room. Today I am bombarding you with 25 number shaped cards. The downloadable files include numbers 1-20 and 30,40,50,60 and 70. The files are sized for gift tags, but you can certainly enlarge the file and make them as regular sized cards. These cards can be used to mark a child's birthday or special event. The simple graphic design of the number card makes it perfect for teenagers too. I've included 30,40,50,60 and 70 to include significant birthdays and to mark special anniversaries.

Craft Room Library Image Downloads

Some of you may have noticed that we made a few changes to the Craft Room Library this weekend. We've removed the individual folders for the Free and New Images and instead added buttons at the top of the Craft Room Library webpage to access these. In the InVue software you will still see New and Free folders. We've just made some improvements on the back end which I explain below. Downloading Images from the Craft Room Library For those of you who are new to Pazzles, there are two main ways to access the Craft Room Library files. First, you can use the Image Library by accessing it through the website. From there you can search for, download and save images to your computer. Many of our customers like to set up a file storage system on their own computer that replicates the organization of the Craft Room Library's album categories.

We've done the easy classroom valentines for five years now, so there are many, many ideas for you with cutting files included. You can browse all of the Valentine ideas here in the Projects section, but here are a few of our most popular classroom valentine ideas. Owl Valentine

Pazzles File Types: WPC, SVG ...

The introduction of our latest cutting machine, the Inspiration Vue and the corresponding new software, the InVue software have resulted in the addition of some new file types to the Pazzles world. Until you understand the various file types and the reason for each specific file type, it can be a bit confusing. I promise we made these changes for a very good reason, and not just to test your mental stamina. So let's talk about each file type on it's own, what the features of each are, and why and when you would use each file type. Stick with me to the end and you'll be a file pro in no time. WPC WPC is the original file type used here at Pazzles. It is what most of you are familiar with. Until recently, the Craft Room Library was all only WPC files. WPC is the default file type used in our Inspiration Studio and Inspiration Studio Pro software options. Our new InVue software gives you the option to open and save in WPC format, but it is not the default file format for the InVue software. PVG PVG is the default file format for our new InVue software. You can only open a PVG file in the InVue software. So why use PVG? Within the InVue software are several options for line type. You can assign a specific line type to each item and have the software save these settings.

InVue Software Update

Today a new InVue software update has gone out. The next time you open your InVue software the update will be automatically applied. Most of the changes this time were small cosmetic changes or bug fixes. Here is a list of the new features. Transparent Lines show in Cut Control Panel: Previously a transparent line stayed transparent when you entered the Cut Control Panel. Now a transparent line will show up in the Cut Control Panel. If your shape has a color fill and a transparent pen line, the pen line will show up as the fill color in the Cut Control Panel. If your shape has a transparent fill color and a transparent line color, the line will show up as gray. Saved Entry in the Rotation Box: The entry box in the rotation feature will now remember the last number you entered. This is helpful when you are rotating many items at the same angle. The angle amount you enter will stay the same as you select each object until you enter a new angle rotation number.

Chapstick Holders Cutting Collection

Tatum's Santa Chapstick Holder continues to be one of our most popular projects, so we decided it needed to be expanded to an entire Cutting Collection. The Chapstick Holders Cutting Collection pieces make quick DIY gifts and a fun way to share a little love with someone. The chapstick holder insert is a separate piece, so it can be left out and these can be used as gift card holders as well. I know you will find so many ways to use these and with eight different versions there is sure to be one that suits everyone.

Decorative File Folders

Being organized is a great feeling, but being organized with cute office supplies is even better. Create labels and covers that you can adhere on the front and inside of any standard pre-purchased file folder.

Cut and Paste Sketches: Snowy ...

Yesterday was the first day back to school after the holiday break for my kids. Saturday night the weatherman was predicting a big storm headed our way with snow Sunday through Monday. While I groaned aloud, they started celebrating the possibility of a snow day and thus another day of freedom. I made a snow day layout with the weather forecast in mind. But guess what? It didn't happen. It rained instead, and they were back to the grind yesterday.

InVue Software Updates

We've released a new InVue Software update today. As with all InVue updates, the update will automatically install the next time you open the software. Here are the new additions to the software: Option to Save File To WPC: You can now save a file in the InVue software as a WPC. To do so make sure all of the items on your page are selected and then choose Convert>WPC. Any text that has not been converted to path will be automatically converted to path when saving to WPC. Rotation Handles in Visual Text Layout: When you select text for visual text spacing, you will now see rotation handles located beneath each letter. You can use this to rotate a letter while still maintaining it's position on the text line. There are several options related to this change. The default is for one letter to rotate when you use the handle. Holding the shift key while rotating will rotate the selected letter and any letters following it. Holding the control/command key will rotate the letter and any letters following it at the same angle of rotation. Do a test run to see how the different options work. Changes To File Name in Tab: When a file is open within the software a tab shows at the top of the page that identifies the file name. The tab will now show the end of the file name rather than the middle, to make it easier to distinguish between files with similar names.

Birthday Banner in a Box gift packaging idea with chalkboard art lid. Box and Banner cutting files from Pazzles.

Birthday Banner in a Box

It's a new year and a new reason to celebrate! My family has lots of winter babies, so right after the rush of Christmas it's time to get my act together and make something special for the January celebrations. Of course anyone who knows someone with a January birthday knows they have the perception of being forgotten, so I like to make a big deal out of winter birthdays. This birthday banner in a box is a fun way to give a gift card or small gift. The banner is attached to the lid, so it comes out as you open the box. Using washi tape to adhere the banner inside, allows for the recipient to remove the banner and hang it up for the celebration.

These lovely cards are as easy as can be to make - just drag and drop your favorite elements to make dozens of unique cards!
