I just got new gel pens from Sakura and wanted to use them with my pen tool. When I placed my pen inside of the holder I couldn’t get the pen tool to hold the gel pen in place. It seems like the thumbscrew is stripped. How can I get a replacement?

I get pretty excited about using my favorite Sakura pens to create some amazing cards and projects. But if the pen tool isn’t able to hold the pen firmly in place it can put a halt to my crafting. Your letters can sometimes get a wobbly look and in some cases the pen might slip out of the pen tool entirely! If your pens are slipping out of place in your pen tool holder it could be because the thumbscrew is stripped. This can happen if you accidentally turn the thumbscrew too tight, have heavily used the thumbscrew for quite some time, or sometimes because of a manufacturing flaw. Pazzles offers replacement metal thumbscrews you can use with your pen tool. If you’re in need of a replacement thumbscrew, contact our office to place your order today. The replacement thumbscrew is free of charge! If you can’t wait that long, any thumbscrew that will fit should work so you might want to check your local hardware store. Usually you can get a new screw for somewhere around $0.10. So if the reason you’ve put aside your favorite markers, gel pens and pencils is due to a stripped thumbscrew—wait no more! With your metal screw replacement you’ll be back to creating, journaling and drawing in no time!

Does your metal screws come with a big head like the plastic one has? The ones in the store have regular screw heads and are difficult to get a grip on.

I was able to get a couple thumbscrews at my local hardware store. Actually, my husband took the pen holder to the hardware store and the clerk way able to find a couple that work well.

I thought I saw information on a pen tool for larger pens and markers on the Pazzles’ site once – a long time ago. Can anyone provide the information to me. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Regina I put up a picture of the thumbscrews so you can see. It is not as big as the original one but it may be nicer than what you can find at the hardware store.

Pam, the pen tool that you’ve mentioned is actually for our Creative Cutter Pro. However, the gauge of the Inspiration Pen Tool is wide enough to fit a wide array of different sizes of pens and markers. I actually slip my pen tool in my purse when I go shopping so that I’m able to test and make sure the pens fit before I buy them.

Thanks for this posting. I was excited to use my pen tool, but it never worked. Now, I know it wasn’t me!!! I can’t wait to try it with the replacement screw.

Thanks Tatum, good idea about taking the pen tool with you when shopping. I never thought about that duh! It makes things so much simpler!

My pen screw also threaded and I found one which is ideal. I used a metal one which was kept when I upgraded my PC equipment. The head is large enough to turn and it keeps the pen locked in much better than the plastic one.
