InVue Software Video: Calibrating your ...

Here are a few extra tips that are not on the video. If you are having trouble printing to your printer, be sure and check your printer documentation or contact the manufacturer of your printer. Although we don't have a specific printer that we recommend, it is helpful to have a printer that feeds from the back instead of the front. This makes it so the heavier paper/cardstock doesn't have to make a 'loop' or bend to come back through the printer. Another tip is when printing on heavier paper/cardstock is to change the type of paper you are using. For instance, I have to select Presentation Matte Paper on my printer. This allows my printer to make adjustments for printing on the heavier paper/cardstock. So again, check your printer documentation or contact the manufacturer of your printer if you are having any issues. Calibrating your Vue for Print and Cut This video will take you through the steps of calibrating your Inspiration Vue in preparation for print and cuts.

Cousins Scrapbook Layout

Cousins Scrapbook Layout

Cousins are very often our very first playmates when we are young. In our family, cousins weren't, not because we didn't want it, but we didn't live close to any of them. So when we got together, it was always so much fun for the kids. If you don't want to use this as a cousin layout, it would be easy to change the letters and get the fun title to work for you. The notebook paper is actually cut out of cardstock. I used a light blue pen with the Pazzles Pen Tool for the notebook lines and a light pink pen for the side margins.

Forever Friends Typography Layout

Forever Friends Layout Overlay

One of the things that I love about my Pazzles is that I am able to use any true type font I have on my computer. There are so many things you can create with just letters. One day as I was cutting out a lot of separate letters I realized that the negative of the paper looked as fun as the positive. I had done the kind of title that you put the paper behind, but then as I had been looking at all the fun things people are doing everywhere with subway graphics, I realized that using it for the entire page background would be so much fun.

No Class: January 11 or ...

There will be no class for the next 2 weeks. I'm still recovering my voice from my illness and it needs to have as much rest as possible for a few more weeks to completely heal. I'm so sorry for the delay in getting started up with the new year and look forward to seeing you in class soon. In the meantime, be sure and watch the videos and past classes. Also, if you haven't gone through the projects or gallery in awhile, now is a great time to catch up.

No Classes

Just a reminder that there are no classes for the remainder of the year. Enjoy the Holiday Season with your family.  I am going to be enjoying seeing grandkid programs and having family from out of town. Don't forget, we have a lot of videos and archived classes to enjoy during this time.  Plus, the Gingerbread Village classes will remain up in the free area, along with the Multiply Tool Class through the end of the year, so if you want to catch up there, you can. Season's Greetings to all my Pazzles Friends! ~Klo

Gingerbread Village: Townspeople

It's the day of the candy parade in our gingerbread village and all of the townspeople are lining the streets to wave hello to the gingerbread floats. You'll see a few ice skaters, a snowman, Mr. and Mrs. Claus and all the other characters that make up this sweet village.

Gingerbread Village: Kids

It's always winter in our gingerbread village and that means the children spend many hours out in the snow. Nutmeg is the town's most fearless sledding champion. When the snow piles up against the eves of the house she starts on the roofs and uses the eves as snow jumps. She sometimes lands so hard she gets buried in the frosting snow and has to eat her way out.

Gingerbread Village: Man and Woman

When the sugar snow starts falling and the frosting hills start shifting and drifting, the gingerbread families hunker down in their houses. But when the sun is shining, the entire town is out and about shopping and visiting.

Gingerbread Village: Church

In the center of town just down from the pond is the Gingerbread Village church. After Sunday services the congregation gathers for hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies from Graham's Bakery. The stained glass windows were a gift from Santa Claus himself after a huge frosting storm in 1989 knocked out the old windows.

No Class: November 16, 2014

There is no class this week, I'm sorry for the late notice, but I got a birthday surprise.  I have tickets to the Nebraska Volleyball game on Sunday.   I am so excited. This is a great opportunity for you to watch past classes or videos or just spend time creating.

Thanksgiving Turkey Box

Turkey Box Remake

This fun turkey makes a great decoration for the mantel, or an end table, or use it as a Thanksgiving table decoration. If you want to use it for place cards, be sure and look to see what Design Team member, Melinda Beltran did with a few modifications. When I made the original turkey box a few years ago, I had no idea that it would remain one of my all time favorite projects that I had created. I have done a few modifications to the file to make it quicker and easier to assemble, without taking away from the fun personality of this character.

September/October Challenge Winner

Congratulations to both of our winners vm4867 and auntiemarg for winning the September/October Challenge. Vm4867 says: "I hope this meets the challenge criteria. The following items were cut with my Inspiration; quilted background pattern, leaves after they were stamped and traced to make a cutting file, button from paper embossed with an embossing folder colored with distress ink, and the chevron banner ribbon. I distressed the quilted background with Ranger Gathered Twigs ink and colored the leaves with sponge daubers and various colors of distress ink before stamping and heat embossing. I added sequins for some sparkle." Not only did vm4867 meet the criteria, she created this absolutely beautiful card that is perfect for the Fall.  Congratulations on winning the September/October Challenge. For our second winner, AuntieMarg this is what she has to say about her project: "Harvest Time at our house means canning!" Auntie Marg's  fabulous layout shows all the yummy canning she has already done this year.   The projects this month were about Fall/Harvest ideas.  If you haven't done it yet, I recommend taking a look at the great projects in the September/October  Challenge Gallery. Be sure and take a look at all of the entries and leave a little comment love. vm4867 and auntiemarg get to choose from the wonderful gift choices on the Challenge page. We will not be doing another challenge for 2014.  We are gearing up for our fabulous 12 Days of Christmas.
