August Challenge Reminder

I'm really not sure how time keeps flying like it does, but the August Challenge is well under way. As a reminder, the theme this month is Getting Ready. Think about something you are preparing for: a new school year, a new job, a new stage of life, a vacation, or anything else that is on the horizon. Make something to help you get ready for whatever is coming your way. The Design Team has been busy creating with this theme in mind. Marjorie Eades is busy planning for the Pazzles Cruise and Crop and she designed this adorable travel binder to keep all her paperwork organized. This is such a clever idea and can be adapted for so many things.

Speech Bubble Sentiments Cutting Collection: ...

Speech bubbles are being seen everywhere in the paper world. They've been showing up on paper lines and in stamp sets for a while now. The Speech Bubble Sentiments Cutting Collection makes it easy to get your message across. There are two different sizes of files. The Speech Bubble Frames are sized for 4" x 6" photo frames and are perfect for an extra layer on a scrapbook layout. The Speech Bubble Sentiments are sized to fit on a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card. Of course you can resize any of the pieces to fit your project.

“Straw” Berries Party Straws

I can't resist a fun straw in my drink. I remember when the plastic crazy straws came out when I was a kid. I hosted a get together a few summers ago and themed our adult beverages around these vintage straws. They were a hit! Create your own party in a glass. Mix up a pitcher of sweet tea, or your favorite berry delicious drink and create these "straw" berries to sip from. They’ll be a perfect “pick” for a summer shandy.

Ice Princess Party Favors

Snowflake Winter Party Favors

“Let it Go, Let It Go……” is sung in our household, and my car repeatedly! This movie is so loved in our household, that my almost 5 year old son has chosen it as his theme for his upcoming birthday party at the end of August. The Pazzles Party CD 51 holds many amazing files that can be tweaked as required for your chosen theme. I adore making party décor and favours, and these files give you an excellent base to work from. Most of the pieces of my party are taken from other themed parties on the Party CD and remade with my winter party theme. Circus Pinwheels to Ice Pinwheels These make the quickest little additions to a sweet table or to give as party favours. I plan to make more of these in coordinating colours, and adding a touch of glitter to the corners adds more festivity! They don’t have to spin either, fastening them to a paddle pop stick and used as a static display is quite okay.

Mason Jar Printable Cards

New Inspiration Vue creative cutters are beginning to arrive all over the country! I'm so excited for you to try out the print and cut feature of your Inspiration Vue and fall in love with all that it can do. Today I've created a set of printable mason jar cards. Use the new print and cut feature to cut out the mason jars and attach them to the mason jar shaped card base. These mason jar printables can also be resized and used as tags or scrapbook layout embellishments. If this is your first print and cut project, please be sure to refer to the Quick Start Guide that came with your machine. It will walk you through the steps of using your cutter. If you are using the original Inspiration you can cut the mason jars out by hand or watch our tutorial video, How To Use Print & Cut on the Original Inspiration.

Project Rewind: Paper Lanterns

Today we have a project rewind. Design Team member Krista Petersen-Hong has taken and old project and made it new again! Instead of rewinding, I want to help you un-wind! Although our world is very modern and sterile, we can still get a glimpse of nature and its simplicity. I really like how Michelle used the 3D bird cage to make these beautiful winter lanterns. I have taken the same 3D pattern and made a lantern for enjoying the summer evenings. I left the top off the original pattern (snow & holly on Michelle’s lantern) and replaced it with leaves that I found in the Inspiration Studio Library and white flowers that are made with a hand punch. I chose a rustic color for my lantern and added brown inking to give it a rusted, weathered feel.

Branch and Birdies Vinyl Frame

I was walking through the craft store a few weeks ago and came across the coolest pictures. They had a hefty price tag, and my first thought was, I can probably create that very same thing for a lot cheaper. I liked the look of the picture under the glass and the way the vinyl outlined the splashes of color in the frame. They were so simple, yet perfectly pretty.

Superhero Tea Pals

It’s a bird, no it’s a plane, no it’s a super hero tea pal! When a super hero helps you brew your tea in the morning, you will be ready to face any obstacle your day throws at you! They may look like they are maxing and relaxing in a nice hot steamy tub, but we all know what lurks below... I made these tea pals by altering the super hero files found in the Pazzles image library under Fantasy > Fictional Characters. I used the replace by segment tool to cut their arms off, repositioned them, and welded them back together so they could hang on the side of the cup and brew your tea for you. I included the altered files and the body file so you can make your own. I also think it would be fun to cut pictures of your kid’s or family’s faces and glue them to the face part of the file. Another idea would be to use the princess files (found in the same directory as the superhero files) and have a little girls tea party. There are also several other themed characters that will work perfectly with this project.

Mason Jar Tag

Mason Jar Butterfly Tag

I love giving handmade gifts to my friends and I always think a handmade tag or card just makes the gift complete. For my Design Team project I decided to have a go at painting a jam jar, popular brand names are Mason or Kilner. They can be bought cheaply from Home Décor stores in the USA and here in the UK. I looked up a few tutorials on the internet, on how to decorate my glass jar to accompany my flowers and tag.

Elegant Envelopes Cutting Collection: WPC, ...

Have any bundles of joy that will be arriving soon? Get ready to adorn baby in greetings of love using the newest Cutting Collection, Elegant Envelopes. Use your Pen Tool to address the envelopes to send out invitations and baby announcements and write your salutations on the inside. Find these cute Stork and Baby files in the Craft Room Library to help deliver your envelopes to let friends and family know your family is growing by two feet.

Mini Baby Album

Baby Mini Album

It's been a while since my babies were actual babies, but I get invited to lots of baby showers. I love to celebrate babies, and I love to tuck something handmade in with my gift. This mini album makes the perfect little something and can be customized in so many ways. Add a picture each month for baby's first year and give it to grandma for a brag book, or keep it as a memento for yourself. Switch it up and create only nine of the pages, so the mom to be can document her growing belly month by month. The mini album set includes tabbed pages and numbers up to 12 to add to the tabs. The Craft Room is full of baby themed cutting files, but I've included just a few more to use while embellishing the album. There is no right or wrong way to decorate this, just adjust it to fit your needs and have fun decorating each page.

Baby Shower Frog Gift Box

Baby Frog Gift Card Box

Gift cards are great for baby showers, as this allows for the mom to be to buy exactly what she needs. I thought it would be a great idea to dress up a packaging box I had saved. I used the Baby Frog, Ribbon Slot Borders and Scallop Mat files which can all be found in the Craft Room Library. Tuck cash or gift card inside this gift card box and you are ready to go.

Baby Bootie Shower Favors

I used the cute little baby bootie file from the CD51: Party CD to create the adorable bootie favors. I used some Die Cuts With A View papers from the baby girl stack. I simply added some lace and pearls around the bottom and a pretty flower with gem for the "snap". I filled it with some candy kisses and they were ready to go! For my hot air balloon favor, I used the free Berry Basket file for the base. I hot glued two bamboo skewers and then inserted them into the balloon. The balloon is from the On the Move Hot Air Balloon file.

Baby Week: Baby Shower Banner ...

I hope you are enjoying celebrating babies here at Pazzles. The cuteness is limitless! I have used the Dimensional Bow from the Craft Room to create a darling pink banner to welcome a baby girl. At first I was going to use only one layer for the bows. I was worried that the bows would come out too big, but I am glad I used other layers. So Cute! You can always change the size, but I went with the imported size. This file is so easy to use. You will want to make extra bows to spread throughout the room! In the center of the banner, I have used the Onesie file from the Craft Room to announce the baby’s sex. It is strung together with a coordinating, but bright, hemp string.

Baby Shower Wreath

Baby Week: Baby Shower Decoration

This wreath will welcome your guests as they arrive to your baby shower. It will set the tone and get your guests excited before the baby shower even starts! Once all your guests arrive you can move your wreath inside and use it for an indoor baby shower decoration too! It can easily be changed from girl to boy with just a little tweaking. Instructions: I cut about 130 3.25 inch circles. Yes, I know this sounds like a lot but it goes super-fast using your Pazzles Creative Cutter! I used a 90 year old music book for mine but you can buy a cheap book at a thrift store, use printed scrapbooking paper, print your own on your printer or just buy colored copy paper. I think it would be precious to use an old nursery rhyme book. *NOTE: The paper you use for the circles needs to be the thickness of copy paper or the pages of a book. You don’t want to use cardstock for this project. The paper needs to be flexible as you are gluing them very close together and cardstock creases easily, giving your wreath a more angular look. Instead, we are going for a softer feel since it is for a baby shower.

Baby Shower Rattle Invitation

Baby Week: Baby Rattle Shower ...

It’s Baby Week and who doesn’t love babies? So for you I have created a shower invitation using the Baby Rattle file. The first thing I did was to resize it to fit in a standard invitation envelope. I then added two circles, one for the front and one for the back. The front one was for information (i.e. who, when, rsvp) which I did with the Pazzles Pen Tool. I used Edwardian script font and then hand wrote the information, but you could do the whole thing with the Pen Tool. The back circle was for decorative paper. I added some inking and a bow and it turned out great. It's very simple and very fast. You could do a lot of these in no time at all and you can get six out of one piece of 12" x 12" cardstock. Tip: make sure you make an extra one for the mom to keep in the baby book.

Baby Week: Onesie Shower Invitations

Hello fellow crafters, Joanna here today highlighting some Baby Shower printables using Print and Cut with your Pazzles. I thought I would share with you how versatile using the Print and Cut technique with your Pazzles can be to create even more creativity. You could of course paper piece some of the elements such as the onesie with your favorite papers. However, when sending out invitations in bulk it is easier and quicker to Print and Cut them. There is an excellent video tutorial How To Use Cutting Files for Print and Cut which will give you step by step instructions.

World Flags

World Celebration Flags

There have been several times this year that I wished I had a set of paper flags representing many countries. First there was the Olympics, then the World Cup, and now the Tour De France. In between all of these world events, I was in charge of a Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet with a world traveler theme. The point is, I decided it was time to have a little world celebration and make up some of these country flags. Today's project includes 18 different world flags, and a bottle hanger medallion. Customize these for whatever team you are cheering for and celebrate! In order to make these "cutting friendly" I've left off some small details on a few of the flags. Australia, USA and Brazil all have small stars on them which will need to be drawn with the Pen Tool.
