I love sending hand crafted Christmas cards. It is like sending a bit of myself to my friends far and near. Lately, though, I just don’t have the time or energy for the detailed cards I used to make. Instead I want to create a simple card that is classic and elegant.
Tags have become one of my favorite projects lately. They dress up a gift or treat and are quick to create. In fact, I think tags are easier than cards. After pouring my creativity into the outside of a card, I always struggle with the inside. Not so, with tags. There is no inside to worry about! This set of Autumn Tags has plenty of versatility for almost any fall occasion. There are several fun elements to the tags to get your creative juices flowing. Use your Pen Tool to write the saying on the tag. You can always change the phrase to something you want right in the software so no need to buy separate stamp sentiments. Create a fun shadow stencil by laying down a cut piece and sponging ink or spritzing glimmer mist over the stencil.
These treat cups are double the fun! They make beautiful decorations and hold sweet treats in the secret compartment.
Writing thank you notes seems to be a long lost art. It is so much easier to text or email, I guess. But if I really think about it, I do love getting those nice hand-written notes in the mail. What keeps me from writing thank you notes? If I am honest with myself, it is because I don’t keep handmade thank you notes on hand for when I need them. Yes, I have bunches of store bought ones but I just can’t seem to feel good about sending them. So I put it off until I have time to “create” one.
A graceful bride, a handsome groom, the giddy bridesmaid and the steady best man. Every good collection includes those key players and predictably, a cake, ring, church and doves. However, I wanted to depart from the traditional pieces just a little bit in this Bridal Party Collection. There are many other important people who need to be spotlighted, don’t you agree? What is a wedding without the cuteness of a tripping flower girl or the goofiness of a little ring bearer? Then there is the mama crying in the front row who has poured her life into the bride or groom and the stoic father who walks the bride down the aisle.

Recently, a friend of mine asked me to make a Bon Voyage banner for her. Her daughter was heading off to New Zealand to work with a medical mission for several months. This was her first child to leave home and her only daughter. You can imagine the emotions that my friend was experiencing at that time. She was proud that her daughter was ready to leave the nest but also sad that she was ready to leave the nest.
I simply love the stacked and layered look, typically called clusters, that is currently popular. Once the base is created you can add all kinds of fun little elements that help tell the story. The trio of Cluster Borders in this set have fun elements that can be mix and matched to make many unique looks. Tuck in some beads, a button or twine and you have a fantastic border design for your scrapbook page.

While cards are a nice gesture to express your sentiments, sometimes you want to give just a little bit more. Perhaps it is a specially made cookie or a few premier type chocolates. On those occasions a card is not quite the right presentation. What you need is a creative way to disguise that treat. A custom made treat bag is the perfect solution. This month's project pattern is a treat bag with six interchangeable flaps. The flap elements are in a classic style and will work for any occasion depending on the paper you choose. The treat bag will fit the small portion size zipper bags found at Walmart or any clear bag that is 3.5" wide.
