Embossing Tool: Birthday Card

In keeping with the statistics, August is filled with lots of birthdays for my family and friends, so I decided to use the large end of the Pazzles Embossing Tool and some cute files from the Pazzles Craft Room Library to create a debossed birthday card in the Inspiration Studio Pro 2014 software. The 5x7 inch landscape-oriented card is in five pieces: 1-The 10x7 inch card base (on white cardstock) which folds to 5x7 inch with a kiss cut line. 2-The card front (on sea green cardstock) which is a 0.20 inline of a 5x7 rectangle, debossed with a 0.10 inline and with happy happy happy BiRtHDAY (fonts list at end), 3-The banner mount (on white cardstock), which is the straight banner from the Ribbon-Banners file sized to about 6.6 inches wide by dragging the corner handle, and modified by moving the left pair of kiss cuts a bit to the right to make them the same distance from the left tails as the right kiss cut pair is from the right tails 4-The dimensional sentiment (on teal cardstock) from the Miss Kate Cuttables Celebrate Title, with debossed letters and cut around the whole word (on the largest outline of the word which is darker gray), 5-A star balloon (on teal cardstock) from the Miss Kate Cuttables New Years Balloons file, debossed  on the circles and edge accents and cut out with its string.

Piercing Tool: Birthday Card

Do you still have your Pazzles Piercing Tool packed away? Now is the time to unpack your tool to create a simple birthday card. The Craft Room Library has tons of files that can be used, and with the InVue software you have the option to change your lines to piercing. Within the InVue software I used the A2 card template. For the metal piece I used the Lattice Frame file outline and created an inline duplicate of the shape five times. On two of the lines I selected the piercing option, on three I selected the embossing tool and the final line is used for cutting out the shape. I typed the word Happy Birthday in the middle to be embossed.

Fun Folds Hiking Birthday Card

Hiking is a wonderful way to enjoy nature and beautiful summer days.   Creating a birthday card for hikers using the Fun Folds 3 collection is another fun way to spend a summer day. The Fun Folds Card collections are easy to cut and fun to decorate.  There are a number of appropriate designs in the Craft Room but the Stair Step Gatefold card has great space for creating a large scene.

Spring Time Card / Tiempo ...

A Note from Pazzles:  We are so excited to have Adriana as a new member of our Design Team.  Adriana's first language is Spanish, so her blogs will be presented in both Spanish and English to honor this.  We are excited to be able to offer dual languages for our Spanish speaking friends. Thank you Adriana for taking the time to write in both languages! This expected season has come in some parts of the world: full of colors, the plants turn green, flowers start to bloom and the days are longer. In Colombia, my country we do not have all the seasons, but we have a city called Medellin where the flowers are blooming most of the time as in Spring, so people call it "The Eternal Spring". This month there are some birthdays to celebrate, so I decided to look at the Pazzles Craft Room Library to get some inspiration.  So I did a card for this special celebration inspired by this season.

Happy Birthday Floral Card

Happy Birthday Floral Card

Hey hey Pazzles friends, Melinda here with you today. It is my turn to share here on the fabulous Craft Room. Today I am sharing this pretty birthday card I made for someone special. I started with the Floral Birthday Card and cut out the flower, leaf and wreath elements in white cardstock. I inked the edged of the flowers with my light pink ink. I then layered and staggered the pieces.

Vintage Country Birthday Banner

Belle here today sharing with you a vintage banner I made for my daughter’s 10th Birthday party last month. We decided on a blend of Wild West and Vintage Country using lace, burlap, red gingham, hay bales and plenty of Country Music! It was a great party. I knew I wanted to make a banner, and when I came across the Lucky Dip burlap pennants in my local Kaisercraft store I knew I had to have them for this very project.

Happy Birthday Card

When it came time to create a card for my oldest granddaughter, D'aijha, who will be turning 14 years old next week I knew I had to do something in purple and pink with just a little bling. If something is purple, pink, or sparkles, then she loves it. With the freedom my Pazzles gives me, I was able to really customize this card to her personality.

Frosty Fun Birthday Card

Hello Craft Room friends, Melinda here with you today. My task was to share something with a winter theme. So I decided to use two of the new files in the Craft Room to create this wintery fun birthday card. Often I create birthday cards that aren't necessarily specific to the season in which they happen, but this card is going to my niece who was born in the first week of January. Plus she lives in Michigan, so I thought a cute little snowman card would fit the bill.

Pretty Birthday Card

Hi guys! It’s Belle here today sharing with you my version of Melin's PCW double square shaped with flowers card. I haven't done many cards lately so it was nice to get back into it. This card packs a punch with it's beautiful latticework and curved edges. Anyone would feel special receiving this card.

BirthdayCandle Treat Boxes

Birthday Candle Treat Boxes

A birthday is always a special day and I like to have little treats on hand to drop off to my friends and family on their birthday. Since everyone knows I'm a paper girl, I like to take something handmade along with a treat. These little birthday candle treat boxes can be filled with candy, chocolates or cash. An electric tea light candle sits in the top of the box to provide the candle flame. They are a great way to use up ribbon scraps and the more ribbon and fibers you add, the cuter the candle gets.

Mini Album Calendar

Calendar Mini Album

Hello crafty friends, Melin here with you today to share my mini album. I was so thrilled to have a chance to create a mini album for this week's Christmas in July projects. I chose to go with a Calendar theme. This makes the perfect gift for special friends and or family. I started with the Scalloped Shaped Frame. I sized it to approximately 8.25 x 8.25. I cut the scallop in white. I cut out seven of them. I then cut the larger mat out in kraft cardstock. I cut out 14 of them and adhered them to both sides of the white scallop mats. I then chose several patterned papers from the DCWV Linen Closet. I love the beautiful soft teals, blues and greens. I created the little mini calendars and the labels for the months. I've included them below for you to download along with a notes journaling card. I printed them out and cut them with my Inspiration Vue.

My latest obsession is gold glitter paper. I can't get enough of it. My favorites based on color and cutting ability are the American Crafts Pow Glitter Paper (caramel) and the Heidi Swapp Marquee Love Paper Pad (Gold). Both are so pretty and cut so nicely.

Scrapbook Sketch: cuttable birthday scrapbook layout sketch

Cut and Paste Sketches: Birthday ...

Don't be deceived by the title of this post. This birthday layout is for every birthday celebration, whether it's for a kid, or a kid at heart. The file includes an alternate title "Birthday Boy" and includes spots for two 4"x 6" photos and two 3"x 5" photos. Remember these sketches provide inspiration, but they also include cutting files making the sketches themselves "cuttable." You can cut out all the pieces and use the sketch just as it is displayed, or use just the base pieces and add your own premade embellishments.

Gatefold Birthday Card

Paris Shutter Card

I adore making cards–it’s my thing! I really love making something extra special for someone to help make their day memorable. This card was made for a very special young lady who just turned 9. She’s an old soul, and a delightful young lady. She has an interest in all things Paris, so deciding on the theme was easy. It’s no secret the Fun Folds II Collection is one of my absolute favourites and a ‘go to’ file. This particular file, the Shutter Card, along with the Vintage Frame is something I’ve used before. This time it’s different. It’s more heavily embellished and the paper is highly patterned.

Shaped Pocket Cards and Tags Cutting Files

Shaped Pocket Cards and Tags

Pick a pocket and stuff it full of love, well wishes and maybe even a gift card or cash. These cards look fancy, but are very easy to make. Cut them out with three cuts and assemble them, or dress them up with embellishments. When your card is finished, they tuck inside a #10 envelope. I've included a file for the envelope liner which simply slips inside.

Monkey themed birthday party with toy monkey cutting files

Monkey Business Cutting Collection: WPC, ...

This Monkey Business Cutting Collection made me smile. They make me think of giggly, horsing around fun. Of course that lead me to thinking about birthday parties and kids running around like monkeys. So, why not a monkey themed birthday party? Though I chose to paper piece my little monkeys, I could have easily print and cut them if I was having a larger party. It’s also amazing to me how you can take a very plain gift bag and make it look fantastic! I used the stationary box for the goody bag base. Since I wrapped the monkey’s arms around the bag I added the white part of his arms to the backside so they would show on the front. I adjusted the size of the monkeys for the cupcake toppers and just added a toothpick to the back.

Shaped Number Notecards from Pazzles

Shaped Number Gift Tags

We're finishing up our typography week with Number Shaped Gift Tags. I love shaped cards and I know many of you have asked for more shaped cards in the Craft Room. Today I am bombarding you with 25 number shaped cards. The downloadable files include numbers 1-20 and 30,40,50,60 and 70. The files are sized for gift tags, but you can certainly enlarge the file and make them as regular sized cards. These cards can be used to mark a child's birthday or special event. The simple graphic design of the number card makes it perfect for teenagers too. I've included 30,40,50,60 and 70 to include significant birthdays and to mark special anniversaries.

Birthday Banner in a Box gift packaging idea with chalkboard art lid. Box and Banner cutting files from Pazzles.

Birthday Banner in a Box

It's a new year and a new reason to celebrate! My family has lots of winter babies, so right after the rush of Christmas it's time to get my act together and make something special for the January celebrations. Of course anyone who knows someone with a January birthday knows they have the perception of being forgotten, so I like to make a big deal out of winter birthdays. This birthday banner in a box is a fun way to give a gift card or small gift. The banner is attached to the lid, so it comes out as you open the box. Using washi tape to adhere the banner inside, allows for the recipient to remove the banner and hang it up for the celebration.

Oven Cupcake Box

I saw an idea like this in a little bakery a few weeks ago and couldn’t resist the chance to “bake” my own. Oops, I meant make my own! It was scrumptiously cute, and the perfect way to showcase a cupcake. Add a cute note to the towel hanging from oven door that lets your friend know how much you care. For your next birthday bash let your loved one know how special they are, and let his oven cupcake box warm their heart.
