Piano Box with Musical Rose

Digital Paper: Piano Box with ...

Recently I was crafting with six of our young grandchildren, ages two through 10, and wanted an easy project for them to make quickly.  I had made some musical roses from the Twirled Flower Rose file in the Pazzles Craft Room recently and needed to make more. After I made one, the children each wanted to make their own. I quickly printed some sheet music on both sides of regular printer paper, resized the Twirled flower file in the InVue software to 8” wide to fill the 8.5”x11” paper, and the children were dazzled as they watched the Vue cutter make swirls around the printed paper on the mat. I showed them how to start wrapping the outside end of the cut strip around a pencil, and keep wrapping until all of the paper was wrapped. We put some clear drying glue on the last inside bit of paper, set it on the table and let it unwrap until we liked the size.

Wizard World Cutting Collection: WPC, ...

I've just recently fallen in love with the wizard world created in the Harry Potter series of books. All the little details are amazing and as I read I couldn't wait to make some of these fun little pieces and parts of the world created in the books come to life in paper. The Wizard World Cutting Collection is a few of my favorite things from the story! The collection includes 11 files perfect to give your wizard loving friends a customized one of a kind gift. If you are a fan of Harry Potter you'll recognize these pieces and you can share them with other wizard loving friends. I've created the set to include a few invitation options, a few party decor options, and several party favor options. There's even a cauldron cupcake wrapper!

Paper Checkers and Chess Board

I love playing board games with my family. It’s a great way to spend time with them and have fun at the same time.  One of the games my kids love the most is checkers.  I created this checkers game to celebrate the fun we have playing it.  The neat thing about this checker board is that you can create it in any colors you like.  You can also add anything to the tops of the pieces instead of the traditional stars and crowns. Think, pink and purple with flowers and hearts, or maybe actual pictures of your families faces. You can use the crown file I’ve included and take a picture of them wearing the crown for the king side of the checker.

Paper Flower Bouquets

I found a petal from the rose bush outside of my studio, and decided to fashion one with a similar shape out of a triangle using the Pazzles InVue software. You can find the cutting file for the resulting 3DRose in the Pazzles Craft Room Library. These files came in handy for creating paper bouquets for my son's wedding. Here's how I assembled the roses. The first layer formed the flower bud when the sides of one petal were hot glued to an opposite petal. The remaining 3 petals were hot glued about 1/3 of the way up from the base of each petal, and adhered to the forming bud. The back center of the next layer was hot glued to the first, with the petals positioned alternately to those of the first. A thin line of hot glue was applied to the base of each petal, which was folded up to adhere to the forming bud. The corners of each petal were curled away from the center of the bud using the small end of a small paint brush. This process was repeated with all of the layers except the last one. The last layer was simply glued in the center back, with no glue required at the base of the petals.

Flower Tea Light Set

Tea Light Paper Flowers

One of my favorite past projects in the Craft Room Library was the Rosette Snowflake Tea Lights Christine created several years ago. I loved the concept and wanted a summer version, so for today's project I made flower tea lights. These can be attached to packages, used as table centerpieces, or added to summer BBQ decor. I'm saving these for a girly tea party I'm hosting later this summer. The file contains four different flower options: hibiscus, rose, daisy, and water lily. My favorite is the rose. Make a bunch of the same kind, or mix and match the different flowers.

Pineapple Box

The pineapple is the national symbol of hospitality. It started way back in Columbus’s Day. He discovered the fruit and brought it back to the states, but farmers couldn’t figure out a way to make it grow outside its normal environment. The fruit quickly became an expensive commodity as it was not easy to ship without spoiling. Only honored and distinguished guests were gifted the extremely expensive whole pineapples and mostly by royalty. Even though today the pineapple is readily available, it still remains a symbol of welcome.

Freedom Centerpiece Exploding Box Card

A centerpiece for your table for freedom that makes a strong statement in support of those who have given so much to gain and protect the freedoms we have.

Brick Wall Mixed Media

Pazzles Stencil Material: Brick Wall ...

Melinda here with you today. I am super excited to share my project with you today. This month I was tasked with creating a project that used the Pazzles Stencil Material. So here is what I came up with!  I created this wall hanging. I started by using the Pazzles Stencil Material . I was real excited when I got my hands on some. It is a much lighter weight than the typical stencil sheets you get at the craft and hobby stores. That means you can get a lot more creative with the type of cuts. I used the Brick Wall file. I created it in my Pazzles Software. Once I was happy with the look, I cut it out of the material. It cut like BUTTER!!! I used a semi-used mat and it had no trouble sticking down while it cut all the “bricks” out. Once I was done cutting the material, I turned to the internet and made some homemade gesso. I found a tutorial online.  I used the baking soda, paint and glue version. Once I mixed that up, I simply laid my stencil down on my canvas and spread the gesso all over. I really didn’t need any adhesive to hold the stencil down as I just carefully went over it with the gesso.

Twinkling Flower Light Covers

I have been seeing people put very cute string lights on porches, outdoor spaces, game rooms and even kids rooms. It is something that is so fun and appealing that it made me realize it would be so fun to be able to create a cover for those lights. I created some shapes that include flowers, starbursts and covers. You can mix and match or use just one style for your entire string of lights. The fun thing with these is, they are very easy to change out, so you can change with the seasons or holidays if you want.

Layered Vinyl Project: Patriotic Mason ...

For this layered vinyl project I used the three layers of flag from the MK July 4th Set. I would recommend getting the Wall Vinyl Transfer Tape from the Pazzles Store to make placing your vinyl onto the Mason jar easier (due to the many stripes which are a little delicate), but the Pazzles Jewels Vinyl was forgiving and came unstuck when I needed to carefully reposition or remove bubbles (which I would recommend adjusting immediately because this amazing product is permanent and even dishwasher safe!) I adhered the red layer first, then the white, then the blue, using the cut out stars from the blue flag field as embellishments above and below the flag on the jar.

Stenciled Art Frame with Airbrushing

Home Décor, mainly wall art, is high on my list of interests.  This stenciled framed art will be a gift to a relative who loves one of a kind art to display in her home.  To personalize it even more I added the initial of her last name. For this design I used Pazzles Stencil Plastic and used my airbrush machine to fill in the white and red areas.  If you don’t have an airbrush machine you can use spray paint or use paint of your choice using a paint brush or even a sponge. All the images are from the Pazzles Pro 2014 image gallery, but you can find similar ones in the Pazzles Craft Room. The butterfly and flowers are layered.  I used black cardstock as the backdrop since I wanted to use white paint.

New Document Template: Basic Square ...

This month's template is a Basic Square Box with Flap Lid.  This is a great place to start if you want to add some fun features to a box and you don't want to start from scratch. Here are the instructions to put the Document Template file into your InVue software:

Pen Tool Happy Birthday Water ...

Adult coloring is a huge trend today.  Retail stores of all kinds, not just craft and hobby stores seem to be embracing this phenomenon.  A walk through a craft store shows a plethora of books, frames, notebooks, journals all to be colored by the buyer.  The health benefits of coloring are many, from stress relief to an exercise for your brain.  I do enjoy coloring and admit, I have a couple of books myself. Then I came to the realization, I can make my own coloring pages with my Pazzles machine!  Using files from the Craft Room, it’s easy to make the perfect “coloring” project, using the Pen Tool. We can choose the type of paper for the coloring medium we wish to use. Why not make it card size, or to fit in a favorite frame? We can reveal our inner artist, and no one will ever guess that it is our imagination and a little “Inspiration” that is allowing us to create the perfect art. For example, this little “Birday” card was created using the branch from Birds on a Branch, the bird and flowers from Pretty Bird on a Branch and the border and medallion from the Medallion Card Base.

Dimensional Paper Picture Frames

These fun frames have a dual purpose. They are not only frames, but boxes too. I was very excited about this project because, like many other projects in the Craft Room, their versatility is almost endless.  You can leave them as plain as you like, or really dress them up.  Check out the frames section under the decorative header in the Craft Room. You can use some of those files to decorate your frames. I think the Circus Tent file or the Choo Choo file would be really cute.   Adding something as simple as a name and a basketball, baseball, or the like would make great team gifts, and remember you still have the box part to add treats to! How about adding a graduation cap to one for a grad gift!  Another idea is to shrink them and use them for table markers/favors.  They can be the same theme or completely different.

Piercing Tool Happy Anniversary Card

I needed a nice anniversary card, and found some suitable designs for creating it in the Pazzles Craft Room Image Library.  I wanted to use my Piercing Tool for this project, and thought that this 3D Butterfly would be perfect inside of a frame for the card front. The piercing and embossing on vellum gave the pieces the elegant touch that I was looking for. I used a Purple Viva Pearl Pen to create the tiny pearls on the center of the butterfly to add that final touch to the completed card.

Vintage Country Birthday Banner

Belle here today sharing with you a vintage banner I made for my daughter’s 10th Birthday party last month. We decided on a blend of Wild West and Vintage Country using lace, burlap, red gingham, hay bales and plenty of Country Music! It was a great party. I knew I wanted to make a banner, and when I came across the Lucky Dip burlap pennants in my local Kaisercraft store I knew I had to have them for this very project.

Bon Voyage Suitcase Card and ...

Recently, a friend of mine asked me to make a Bon Voyage banner for her. Her daughter was heading off to New Zealand to work with a medical mission for several months. This was her first child to leave home and her only daughter. You can imagine the emotions that my friend was experiencing at that time. She was proud that her daughter was ready to leave the nest but also sad that she was ready to leave the nest.

Paper Puzzle Box Wedding or ...

I created the puzzle piece boxes for a very special reason. My son has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and one of the symbols for Autism is the puzzle piece. The month of April is Autism Awareness month, and April 2, 2016 is the eighth annual World Autism Awareness Day.
