Pazzles Projects

Salt and Light Framed Vinyl ...

This month was a new challenge for me. I was assigned to create a project around the theme “Typography.” If you have used the fit text to path option with the Pro Software, you can see where it might be easier to manipulate the text. However, I used the newer InVue Software to create my project. As the InVue Software does not yet have the fit text to path option, I was a little lost at first. Then I realized that working with the text was easier and just as fun. By foregoing fit to text, I was able to manipulate each letter freely. I did draw the salt shaker and flame myself. However, you can find a salt shaker and flames in the Pazzles Craft Room Library. I cut the outline for the shaker and the flame, as well as the type, out of vinyl. I adhered the vinyl to cardstock. I used a white gel pen to write the scripture address, as it is so tiny. My finished, framed pictures each measure just under 6" X 8".

Easy Layout Backgrounds with Stencils

Hello crafty friends, Melinda here with you today sharing a fun set of layouts using something we all have...FONTS. With so many free font sites and options, you can really express your creative style! Here are the layouts I created: To start with I used my Pazzles software and created the word background. I cut it out on some black cardstock. I popped all the letters out and made sure to edit letters like "a" and "o" so that they wouldn't have any pieces "falling out" of the template. I then used the template as a mask on the first layout (Circa 1975) and sponged some chocolate ink on the pink cardstock. I loved that it gave it a vintage look. I then took a flower stamp and the same chocolate ink and inked around the layout. I matted that onto a kraft cardstock base that also had a pretty piece of patterned paper. I used my sewing machine to stitch around the pink paper with some black thread. I then used a couple of files from the Craft Room to create the flourished photo corners. I cut those out of black cardstock. I added some ribbon from May Arts and a couple of chipboard embellishments I had in my stash and all done. It wasn't too hard to do, and I let the wording of the template and the photo take center stage.

Life Is Like A Bicycle

Life Is Like a Bicycle ...

Have you ever used your Pazzles Inspiration or Vue to create printables or wall art? The software is so much more than a tool to cut, draw, emboss, pierce, distress etc. It offers a world of possibility for creative expression in so many ways. With so many files available in the Pazzles Craft Room, we are able to create just about anything for any occasion. Recipe for total typography fun – many Craft Room files – a quote obsession/collection – and a font collection/obsession mix together and voila! By selecting a saying or quote that you love, all you need to do is play around with the fonts and sizing together with a Craft Room file or two to ‘decorate’ it. Song lyrics are great for this too.

Cousins Scrapbook Layout

Cousins Scrapbook Layout

Cousins are very often our very first playmates when we are young. In our family, cousins weren't, not because we didn't want it, but we didn't live close to any of them. So when we got together, it was always so much fun for the kids. If you don't want to use this as a cousin layout, it would be easy to change the letters and get the fun title to work for you. The notebook paper is actually cut out of cardstock. I used a light blue pen with the Pazzles Pen Tool for the notebook lines and a light pink pen for the side margins.

Wine Cork Projects: Wine Cork Fairies

Wine Cork Fairies

Basil and her friend Thyme have been busy working in their fairy gardens in the wine vineyards here in Idaho. They can tell spring is right around the corner, and have been getting things ready for cherished friends to come visit. If you've been doing a little spring cleaning of your own, don't forget to sit back and enjoy a little relaxation over a glass of wine. Perhaps the garden fairies will fly by to help with the chores and sprinkle a little magic along the way.

Hopes and Dreams Journal

Hopes and Dreams Journal

With every new year there's a quest to learn something new, adopt healthy habits, and start setting new goals. It's nice to have a place that you can write down your thoughts, motivational quotes, and keep track of what you plan to accomplish. I purchased this Wexford Composition Book 9.75" x 7.5" for under $3.00 at my local Walgreens store. I loved the fact that I can decorate it with my favorite paper line, and take advantage of all the scraps I collect. It's a great way to use up fibers too, and leave bits and pieces hanging from the pages. The busier, the better, and the ideas are endless!

Chapstick Holders Cutting Collection

Tatum's Santa Chapstick Holder continues to be one of our most popular projects, so we decided it needed to be expanded to an entire Cutting Collection. The Chapstick Holders Cutting Collection pieces make quick DIY gifts and a fun way to share a little love with someone. The chapstick holder insert is a separate piece, so it can be left out and these can be used as gift card holders as well. I know you will find so many ways to use these and with eight different versions there is sure to be one that suits everyone.

Decorative File Folders

Being organized is a great feeling, but being organized with cute office supplies is even better. Create labels and covers that you can adhere on the front and inside of any standard pre-purchased file folder.

DIY Menu Planner Board

Organization Week: Menu Board Planner

It is a brand new year and time to get organized! Don’t huff and groan. I am going to start you off easy. I created a striking, modular Menu Board. Sit yourself down here at the hearth and I’ll teach you how to make one for your kitchen. It was wonderful to design my entire project in the Pazzles InVue Software. The software is a great tool for getting your ideas down “on paper” yet still be able to easily manipulate it and make notes. To play around with shapes, their sizes, and various fonts is a blessing for this non-artist. My metal sign measures 12 X 16 inches. In my InVue software, I created a new file measuring 12 X 24 inches. I chose and made shapes that represented the image in my head. Originally I was going to simply cut circles out of card stock for the days of the week. As my project evolved, I decided to use decorative bottle caps. Each letter representing the days of the week are cut from Pazzles Vinyl.

Organization Week: Garden Stakes

It’s that time of the year. The holidays are over, all the decorations are safely packed away, and the family has all gone home. If you are anything like me you have probably already broken half of your New Year’s resolutions. Now its time to organize, and this year I’m going to organize my garden. Every year my hubby plants my garden and always throws away the plant tags before I can get to them. This year with the help of the new InVue software and the Pazzles Craft Room I made these cute garden stakes.

DIY Home Calendar Planner

Organization Week: DIY Home Calendar

Hello crafty friends, Melin here with you today sharing my calendar. Part of being organized for me means keeping better track of time. So I decided to create this calendar that will hang on my bulletin board. I started by using a standard 12" x 12" scrapbook page size. From there I laid out my concept with my software. I love being able to lay my project out in my software before I cut anything. It helps me figure out my die cut sizes as well as what pieces I will use. Once I laid it all out, I picked my papers. I started by cutting a base of the Doilie Frame cut file from the library. I then cut the Flourish Hardware, Royal Damask, Wire Dress Form and the Doilie Frame 2 all from the Craft Room Library.
