Fishing Pole
The reel on this fishing pole pulls apart and is a box where you can tuck a small gift. Attach sweet notes from the kids on the back of each fish, or use them for candy or gift cards.

This paper tie project might just be the perfect way to do more than just create cute cards and layouts—you can wear your designs too! Have fun making this simple sentiment of love and send dad off to work in style.
This month's challenge is, "The Heat is On." You can interpret this anyway you want. I know our friends in the southern hemisphere are coming into Winter and our northern hemisphere friends are moving into Summer. So this month create a project, layout or card that uses the idea of heat.
Here, in the UK we have several more weeks till the end of the school year! I thought I would make a cute gift box for my son’s teacher in appreciation for schooling my son this year. I work in a school myself and know that the teachers love to receive unique, homemade gifts. I have used the Tennis Box from the Sport Gift Boxes Collection. In addition, I selected the apple from the Apple Tree cutting file also found in the Craft Room Library. I resized the apple to sit on top of the circular tab and cut it out of Kraft card which I covered with red gingham paper. I added a twirled flower between the leaves of the apple using red cardstock and inked up the edges of the leaves and apple. I then added some numbers using fonts in my Pazzles software and cut them out of black cardstock.

For those who are just recently discovering these Spellbinders Cutting Collections, you can watch our Spellbinders Digital Dies by Pazzles introductory video showing all of the uses for these cutting files.
This card has a little pocket on the inside of the card to hold special coupons for dad. You can have your little ones create their own coupons using the pieces you cut out or go and print them out from the many different places that have them on the internet.
Gather together a few junior bug explorers and celebrate summer in your backyard. The fascination of watching an ant hill busy at work, or collecting ladybugs in a jar, are childhood memories we all cherish. Our latest collection, Backyard Bugz Cutting Collection includes a several buggy characters, a bug jar and net, and a few titles for documenting your summer bug catching. For today's project I cut the net out at the largest size I could fit on a 12" x 12" piece of paper. I cut a separate layer in chipboard for a bit of stability.
A three-dimensional golf cart that can be filled with goodies and given to the golf fanatic in your life!

June is quite busy for some of you. Are there grads and dads that you want to honor? Pazzles can help. The Craft Room makes celebrations quick. I found several great files that help me celebrate these to special occasions. First I made some simple graduation cards. I even used the Print & Cut method to make my sentiments. For the cards I used the 2014 Photo Booth Hat and the Grad Girl files Next I made a small gift bag for a boy graduating.

Recently, Pazzles has been providing us with some lovely sketches which include cutting files ready for download available in the Pazzles Craft Room. If you have not tried any of the Cut And Paste Sketches so far, I urge you to have a go. Once you have downloaded the sketch cutting file all you need to do is import the sketch cutting file into your Pazzles software. For my project I used the Circle Spotlight Card sketch. Now the difficult bit…….decisions! Choose your coordinating paper and cardstock and cut according to the design. You don’t even need to stick to the design and you can use all, some, or one element(s) of the design in your project.
Scrapbook layout and card sketches are a great starting point for well designed, quick projects. Many sites offer sketch ideas, but they still involve measuring and hand cutting. I like to let my Inspiration do as much of the work as possible, so I often design my layouts and cards in the Inspiration Studio Software first and then cut them out. Today and every Tuesday I’ll be sharing these cuttable sketches with you in our Pazzles Cut And Paste Sketches series. You can expect to see single page layouts, double page layouts and cards, all ready for you to cut out and paste to your page or card base. You can use all of the pieces as is, or use just the design base and substitute your favorite ready made embellishments for the shapes. The layout I created for today's Cut And Paste Sketch is more of a finished layout, than a sketch, but you can certainly get rid of the title, crazy monkey and sneaky snake, and use the "bones" of the layout as a sketch. Have fun monkeying around with this page!
Aloha fellow Pazzlers! Does anyone you know have one of those Hawaiian girl bobbles on their car dashboard? My grandparents did, and I played with it every time I got in their car. I just loved watching her swing back and forth with every bump in the road. Because of those memories I knew the very first time I saw the Hawaiian Girl file that it needed to be a bobble!! She is so cute! This little hula girl is learning her native dance with the help of an Action Wobble Spring. Her base is actually the Glamour Girl Compact Box so it can hold secret treasures. She is sitting on my desk and every time I sit down to work I have to give her a little tap so I can watch her do her dance.
I keep thinking about making a quilt. I've been looking at quilt patterns as a way to give myself a pep talk and convince myself that I can actually do it. Quilt patterns are kind of amazing. When you look at a finished block you see a butterfly, but when you look really close you see a series of triangles and squares that make up that butterfly. It fascinates me! To wrap up this week of DIY embellishments I've created a set of eight patchwork inspired embellishment pieces. One of the Design Team Members mentioned having difficulty with this assignment because to her, everything she creates with her Inspiration is an embellishment, which is very true. The idea behind this week is to have a bit of a cutting binge and make some embellishments ahead of time to have on hand. We wanted to encourage you to look at those packages of embellishments at the store and instead of buying them, make your own.
There is no class this weekend. Please have a safe Memorial Day weekend, I hope you will be able to spend some time with family, friends and loved ones. Here is a history of Memorial Day that I found very interesting and wanted to share: Three years after the Civil War ended, on May 5, 1868, the head of an organization of Union veterans — the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) — established Decoration Day as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers. Maj. Gen. John A. Logan declared that Decoration Day should be observed on May 30. It is believed that date was chosen because flowers would be in bloom all over the country. To continue reading...
Twelve different adorable 3x4 cards. Not only do these make great pocket scrapping cards, they are the perfect size for creating quick and easy sentiments for your cards!
I have so many scraps left from all my projects. I’ve decided to use some of my scraps to make some flower embellishments. How fun to just make them ahead of time in different colors and sizes using all of our scraps. This way when we’re working on a project it will be much easier to just go and pull out what we need. There are so many beautiful flower cutting files in the Craft Room Library. I decided to start my embellishment collection with the Large Flower and the Flower Bunch cutting files which can all be found in the Library. I simply set the cutting file at the size I wanted. I added a dimensional square between each layer of a flowers to help give more dimension. I then chalked and embellished with either a rhinestone, brad, or pearl for the centers. Now I will have an assortment of flower embellishments to add to any project.
I love to bike ride. It’s so nice to breathe the fresh air. It makes me feel so carefree… until I have to pedal up a steep hill! I have always loved the novelty of tandem bikes and wished I had one…so someone else could pedal! I made five different embellishments to help me savor the feeling I get when I ride my bike! I hope they will inspire you and help you get your scrapbooking page or card put together in a snap. Though I chose a bike theme, these embellishments can be turned into any theme you can imagine. Instead of using the quote, "I would go anywhere with you. On a bicycle built for two”. You could say “If friends were flowers, I would pick you”. Then change the pictures of the bicycles to pictures of flowers. All the embellishments using images or quotes were cut out using the print and cut technique.
Whether you are a fan of the latest and greatest smart phone, or still embracing the floppy disk, this technology inspired collection has it all. Make something special for the computer whisperer in your life. The title in this collection would be fun for t-shirt designs when cut out of Pazzles Iron-On Material.
