Beautiful Blossoms Cutting Collection

  Every spring I start planning my garden and look forward to it with rose colored glasses. I forget about the weeds and the bugs that come along to destroy everything until it is too late. Then I vow to never plant a garden again. By the following spring I am looking forward to planting again and I forget all about the pesky problems a gardener has to deal with. Lucky to Have You Layout

This beautiful layout can be used for many different types of photos. Whether it is a sweet baby, grandparent, car, pet or any other thing that makes you feel lucky, this is the layout for you. Have fun layering different papers to create just the look you want. You can use all of the pieces or pick and choose to customize it to make it just right for you. Notice the flowers that are disguising the lucky shamrocks, if you want more of a St. Patrick's Day layout, simply leave the flowers off. After cutting all of the pieces out, I decided to chalk and ink the edges just to add a little dimension. I also popped up the centers of each flower. To add one last touch, I pulled out my sewing machine and added a few lines of stitching. I also used my pen tool for the "to have you" words.

This week we will be going back to some of the basics.  We will be showing you how to take files that have more than one layer.  We will be cutting out and assembling them.   We will also learn how to cut out in multiples to save on paper and time. DIY Dimensional Flowers

I love springtime, as there are such pretty flowers to admire bursting into bloom. Also, there are some beautiful cutting files in the Craft Room Library that can be teamed up with pretty floral papers to create a lovely 3D project. Today I have used the Banner Box cutting file in the Pazzles Library for my gift box. I have cut this out using pretty floral paper. Remember you can resize the box smaller or larger using your Pazzles software. I also resized the banner overlay to make a smaller banner in coordinating paper as a background for my flower. I was browsing through the Tips and Tricks section in the Craft Room and came across a blog post, Dimensional Flowers. I watched the accompanying video tutorial on how to create 3D Flowers which includes several cutting files for you to use.

March Challenge

This is a "Be Inspired" challenge for this month. Use the photo as your inspiration piece. You can utilize design, color, shapes, etc to create your project. Just have fun with it and realize that we can find inspiration in all things. After you have finished your project, go and add it to the March Challenge Folder.  If you need instructions to upload your project, here are the instructions. Butterfly Pops Party Favor

Today I have made a quick 15 minute project, a Butterfly Lollipop Holder using my Pazzles Inspiration. I love butterflies and when I saw this 3-D Butterfly in the Craft Room Library, I just knew I would be using it for one of my projects. I imported the file into my Pazzles software and deselected some of the layers, as I wanted to use a combination of different patterned papers. I duplicated the butterfly and set it to one side. Taking the first imported butterfly I deleted all the layers except the largest base layer.

Pocket Card Gift Box

I was excited to see the new addition of the Pocket Box Card to the Craft Room Library.  The little box is just the right size for fun gifts.  This project was enlarged to 11 1/2" width. After covering the box card in pink papers, I added some of the Handful of Hearts file sized at 4 3/4”.  I love to add sewing to projects and so my absolute favorite tool is the Piercing Tool as it makes pierced holes that are separated by whatever spacing you want.  Hand stitching has never been so accurate and easy!

Front Door Vinyl Signs

Driving through my neighborhood the other day I saw that my neighbor had added her last name to her front door with vinyl. I instantly wanted to be a copycat. What a cute idea! Sometimes it's the simple things we can do with our Inspiration that we overlook. Since I can't create all of your last names for you in fun fonts, I did the next best thing and made several generic front door signs ready to cut out in your color choice of vinyl. I don't know why I never thought of this before, but I think this might be my part of every gift I give this year. What a cute idea for newlyweds or a small gift for a teacher, or neighbor.

New Release of Spellbinders Digital ...

Have you had a chance to play with the Spellbinders Digital Die Collections yet? We are seeing projects pop up in our forums and on our fan pages using these fabulous files and we couldn't be more thrilled. Twelve new Spellbinders Collections have been added to the Pazzles Online Store this past weekend including several beautiful floral themed sets perfect for spring crafting.

Customized Rhinestone Spirit Wear

School spirit day is every Friday at my daughter’s school. Red is the color and their mascot is an owl. I must say though I’m not too fond of their t-shirt designs. She is very girly and loves bling , so I decided to customize a tank top for her using the Pazzles Rhinestones Kit. I love that we can transform our images into something custom , unique and blingy. Watching the Creating Rhinestone Designs video has really made it easy to understand the process of creating with rhinestones.

Make A Wish Birthday Card

Winter reminds me of snowflakes and mittens. With this in mind I got an idea to create a winter birthday card. I started with a 5" x 7" base card,  and then went ahead and created a scalloped border using the making scallops video. The video makes it so easy to create any size scalloped borders. I used the Mittens cutting file found in the Craft Room Library and created an outline for the mittens. I also created two basic circles and printed the Make A Wish sentiment.

Cut And Paste Sketches: Bird ...

I love to add lots of layers to my cards with dimensional foam dots and embellishments, but the downfall is that they often are too chunky to send in the mail. Today's sketch can be made thick with dimensional dots and trims, or kept thin for mailing. The center circle is a cut out of the top paper so that the paper underneath shows through. I think this card would be beautiful in a monotone/ombre color palette or with a grungy vintage feel. Make it whichever style you'd like and give it your own special touch.

Need 4 Speed Cutting Collection: ...

My son loved his little cars when he was younger. He always pretended the cars were driving really fast and the police pulled them over. He played with them almost every day, and we rarely left the house without at least one in his pocket. But this too shall pass…ho hum. We recently cleaned out his toy box and I found all his beloved cars at the very bottom. He was hesitant to get rid of them but he also said, “I don’t really play with them anymore”. So when I saw the Need 4 Speed Cutting Collection I knew right away what I was going to do with it! I purchased a 12x12 shadow box, took the back off, laid it face down and filled it with his most favorite cars. I used vinyl to cut the files out, layering them as I went and applied it to the glass front of the shadow box. He was so happy and even got a little sentimental when I gave it to him. I hope it provokes those feelings every time he sees it.

Barrel Of Monkeys Birthday Banner

The best projects in my opinion are the ones that have the biggest impact, but don’t take a lot of time to create. That’s just the kind of project this is. These cute monkeys make a great card or party banner for any event. I’m sure you have a favorite monkey in mind who would go bananas to receive it, so get to it!

February Challenge Reminder

Have you had a chance to play along with our February challenge? I'll admit the Bendi card idea was new to me and now I cannot wait to try it. As a reminder the February challenge is to use the Bendi Card Large or Bendi Card Small files in the Craft Room to create a card. In the January 5, 2014 Klo's Classroom, Klo showed how to create a bend-fold base from written instructions. She also showed how to change lines and have a little more fun with the file. Coffee Cup Circle Card

I wanted to create a special birthday card for a friend who loves coffee. I decided to create her card using the coffee theme. I used the Scallop Sunshine cutting file, Coffee Cup and the Let It Snow file, all of which can be found in the Craft Room Library. I enlarged the sunshine cutting file to 6 inches and mirrored and welded it to create a shaped card.

Cut And Paste Sketches: Away ...

Maybe it's the seven straight days of rain, or the sight of my dead yard, but I am itching to go someplace sunny and warm. It likely won't be happening soon, but hopefully I'll eventually have the perfect pictures for this layout. For now I'll have to look through photos of past vacations and dream of flip flops and beach towels. If a vacation is not in your near future, switch out the airplane for another embellishment and use it for pictures of a busy little boy or a family day trip. The bottom of this layout is created by folding the long scored strips into pleats and then gluing them together.
