Embossing Tool: Birthday Card
In keeping with the statistics, August is filled with lots of birthdays for my family and friends, so I decided to use the large end of the Pazzles Embossing Tool and some cute files from the Pazzles Craft Room Library to create a debossed birthday card in the Inspiration Studio Pro 2014 software. The 5x7 inch landscape-oriented card is in five pieces: 1-The 10x7 inch card base (on white cardstock) which folds to 5x7 inch with a kiss cut line. 2-The card front (on sea green cardstock) which is a 0.20 inline of a 5x7 rectangle, debossed with a 0.10 inline and with happy happy happy BiRtHDAY (fonts list at end), 3-The banner mount (on white cardstock), which is the straight banner from the Ribbon-Banners file sized to about 6.6 inches wide by dragging the corner handle, and modified by moving the left pair of kiss cuts a bit to the right to make them the same distance from the left tails as the right kiss cut pair is from the right tails 4-The dimensional sentiment (on teal cardstock) from the Miss Kate Cuttables Celebrate Title, with debossed letters and cut around the whole word (on the largest outline of the word which is darker gray), 5-A star balloon (on teal cardstock) from the Miss Kate Cuttables New Years Balloons file, debossed on the circles and edge accents and cut out with its string.

Mouse Birthday Card
Did you know that the InVue software has built in templates for card making? If you have not looked at these templates you are missing out on some good resources for quickly creating a card. Here is a video to show you more about the Document Templates. I have created a quick 15 minute project for you.
Paper Flower Bouquets
I found a petal from the rose bush outside of my studio, and decided to fashion one with a similar shape out of a triangle using the Pazzles InVue software. You can find the cutting file for the resulting 3DRose in the Pazzles Craft Room Library. These files came in handy for creating paper bouquets for my son's wedding. Here's how I assembled the roses. The first layer formed the flower bud when the sides of one petal were hot glued to an opposite petal. The remaining 3 petals were hot glued about 1/3 of the way up from the base of each petal, and adhered to the forming bud. The back center of the next layer was hot glued to the first, with the petals positioned alternately to those of the first. A thin line of hot glue was applied to the base of each petal, which was folded up to adhere to the forming bud. The corners of each petal were curled away from the center of the bud using the small end of a small paint brush. This process was repeated with all of the layers except the last one. The last layer was simply glued in the center back, with no glue required at the base of the petals.
Piercing Tool: Birthday Card
Do you still have your Pazzles Piercing Tool packed away? Now is the time to unpack your tool to create a simple birthday card. The Craft Room Library has tons of files that can be used, and with the InVue software you have the option to change your lines to piercing. Within the InVue software I used the A2 card template. For the metal piece I used the Lattice Frame file outline and created an inline duplicate of the shape five times. On two of the lines I selected the piercing option, on three I selected the embossing tool and the final line is used for cutting out the shape. I typed the word Happy Birthday in the middle to be embossed.
Fun Folds Hiking Birthday Card
Hiking is a wonderful way to enjoy nature and beautiful summer days. Creating a birthday card for hikers using the Fun Folds 3 collection is another fun way to spend a summer day. The Fun Folds Card collections are easy to cut and fun to decorate. There are a number of appropriate designs in the Craft Room but the Stair Step Gatefold card has great space for creating a large scene.

However, I wanted to depart from the traditional pieces just a little bit in this Bridal Party Collection. There are many other important people who need to be spotlighted, don’t you agree? What is a wedding without the cuteness of a tripping flower girl or the goofiness of a little ring bearer? Then there is the mama crying in the front row who has poured her life into the bride or groom and the stoic father who walks the bride down the aisle.

In Colombia, my country we do not have all the seasons, but we have a city called Medellin where the flowers are blooming most of the time as in Spring, so people call it "The Eternal Spring". This month there are some birthdays to celebrate, so I decided to look at the Pazzles Craft Room Library to get some inspiration. So I did a card for this special celebration inspired by this season.

Happy Anniversary Cat Lover Card
I enjoy making cards for family and friends, and along with birthday cards, I make anniversary cards. A few years ago, I realized that I make at least a dozen anniversary cards per year. The card recipients either don’t know each other or live far apart, so I began creating cards using the same basic design for all of them. I can customize the cards by using different papers or colors or adding a slightly different sentiment to emphasize the anniversary year. It is a huge time saver to be able to use one design, cut all the pieces at one time, and then simply assemble the cards as they are needed or when time allows.

Piercing Tool Happy Anniversary Card
I needed a nice anniversary card, and found some suitable designs for creating it in the Pazzles Craft Room Image Library. I wanted to use my Piercing Tool for this project, and thought that this 3D Butterfly would be perfect inside of a frame for the card front. The piercing and embossing on vellum gave the pieces the elegant touch that I was looking for. I used a Purple Viva Pearl Pen to create the tiny pearls on the center of the butterfly to add that final touch to the completed card.

I started with the Floral Birthday Card and cut out the flower, leaf and wreath elements in white cardstock. I inked the edged of the flowers with my light pink ink. I then layered and staggered the pieces.

Vintage Country Birthday Banner
Belle here today sharing with you a vintage banner I made for my daughter’s 10th Birthday party last month. We decided on a blend of Wild West and Vintage Country using lace, burlap, red gingham, hay bales and plenty of Country Music! It was a great party. This was her first child to leave home and her only daughter. You can imagine the emotions that my friend was experiencing at that time. Graduations are just around the corner, and what better way to surprise the graduate in your life than with a card and gift box all in one? This file was created using the matchbox file as a base. I added a section to the side which becomes the easel card sitting on top. I enlarged the file to cover my 12x12 mat so the card was a decent size. It also means that the box is large enough to hold a gift card or a jewelry box for example.
