Personalized Vinyl Sign: God’s Cat ...

Have you ever needed something for a spot in your home and haven’t been able to find the perfect thing to fit in that space? Consider creating a special art piece, using your Pazzles machine, a purchased piece of art and Pazzles vinyl. The inspiration for my art work came from the location and the area around where I was placing it, specifically next to my patio doors, overlooking my back yard. Key components in my back yard are the “occupants".   I have the usual things in my area of the country-a palm tree, a swimming pool, hibiscus plants, bird of paradise plants, citrus trees and feral cats.  I’ll explain about the cats, specifically, “God’s Cat Garden” a bit later. A base to place the vinyl was required.  I was unable to find the correctly sized unfinished piece at my local craft store.  A pre-made framed sign, made of paneling with words etched in the surface was the correct size. The piece was on sale so I purchased it, planning to sand off the words and refinish it. After sanding off the original words, I used two shades of paint on the paneling base to create a distressed look and distress stain to antique the frame.

Mason Jar Recipe Book Mini ...

Scrapbook mini albums are a very controversial topic. Most people either love them or hate them. I feel a little of both. I love to make them and spend hours adding all of the little details, but then I start to hate it once it's made because I don't know where and how to store it. Which side are you on in the very important topic? Recipe mini albums are different though, because they can be tucked in with my cookbooks and I feel like they have a proper place. I put together a really fun recipe mini album this week with all of the little details I love and I'm excited to share it with you. And if you love mini albums, the inside of this book has a unique system that you can use again and again for any theme. Along with the mini album, I've included a few options for print & cut recipe cards. The square cards are intended to be adhered into the pages of the album.

Pen Tool Happy Birthday Water ...

Adult coloring is a huge trend today.  Retail stores of all kinds, not just craft and hobby stores seem to be embracing this phenomenon.  A walk through a craft store shows a plethora of books, frames, notebooks, journals all to be colored by the buyer.  The health benefits of coloring are many, from stress relief to an exercise for your brain.  I do enjoy coloring and admit, I have a couple of books myself. Then I came to the realization, I can make my own coloring pages with my Pazzles machine!  Using files from the Craft Room, it’s easy to make the perfect “coloring” project, using the Pen Tool. We can choose the type of paper for the coloring medium we wish to use. Why not make it card size, or to fit in a favorite frame? We can reveal our inner artist, and no one will ever guess that it is our imagination and a little “Inspiration” that is allowing us to create the perfect art. For example, this little “Birday” card was created using the branch from Birds on a Branch, the bird and flowers from Pretty Bird on a Branch and the border and medallion from the Medallion Card Base.

Recipe for a Beautiful Garden ...

Every Spring and Early Summer as the cold weather turns and the grass starts to get green, the flowers start blooming and the leaves cover the trees in verdant colors, I get excited and ready to start adding a touch to our own yard for us to enjoy for the next few months.  The past two years we have not done a lot in our new home, so this year we are ready to really get started. As I was thinking of the things I needed to do to make sure our yard is vibrant with color and flowers, I recalled the special recipe that my oldest sister used and shared with us in the past.  We have used this recipe in our past homes and have always left each place with a plush lawn and beautiful landscaping with flowers and bushes that show their colors to the fullest.  So I know it is time to pull out the 'recipe.'   As I was doing that, I realized I could not find it. It then occurred to me, it should be with my recipe swap book that I did years ago with a group of online friends, that I still use.  That meant creating a page.

Engraving Tool Vintage Sounds Card

I really like the look of old things.  I call old things “vintage” now.  It sounds better than old I guess. I love music and especially love the look of the vintage record players and other vintage musical instruments.  I made this card for my daughter who is also a music lover. I used the Victorian Record Player, Flower Power, and Music files from the Craft Room Library and added a piece of aluminum metal to engrave on with the Pazzles Engraving Tool.  It took me a while to make the shiny aluminum look rusty, but I managed, using a combination of Super Copper Pearl Ex Pigments and Apple Barrel Black Acrylic Paint.  To see more on how to use the engraving tool, be sure and watch Klo's Class from April 10, 2016

A Note from Pazzles:  We are so excited to have Adriana as a new member of our Design Team.  Adriana's first language is Spanish, so her blogs will be presented in both Spanish and English to honor this.  We are excited to be able to offer dual languages for our Spanish speaking friends. Thank you Adriana for taking the time to write in both languages! This expected season has come in some parts of the world: full of colors, the plants turn green, flowers start to bloom and the days are longer. In Colombia, my country we do not have all the seasons, but we have a city called Medellin where the flowers are blooming most of the time as in Spring, so people call it "The Eternal Spring". This month there are some birthdays to celebrate, so I decided to look at the Pazzles Craft Room Library to get some inspiration.  So I did a card for this special celebration inspired by this season.

Distressing Tool: Pocket Full of ...

My Design Team assignment for this month was to make a project using the Pazzles Distressing Tool. I’ve had my Distressing Tool awhile but only just now discovered how fun it is! The basic ideas that came into my head when deciding what project to do were either vintage themed or denim themed, but you don’t have to limit the possibilities to that. I’ve been enjoying seeing all the spring flowers pop out, especially the itty bitty ones, and they made me think of a pocket full of posies which is part of a nursery rhyme I used to sing with my kids when they were very little. Thus, a search through the Pazzles Craft Room Library later and the Pocket Full of Posies Shaped Card came to fruition.

Introducing another Fun Fold Collection! These special fold cards are so popular in the card making world and there are many tutorials online, but guess what? You don't have to measure, hand cut, and score because I've done all the prep work for you! Now you can choose your design, cut, and start embellishing in just a few minutes. Fun Folds 3 includes 10 different creative folded cards.

Dimensional Paper Picture Frames

These fun frames have a dual purpose. They are not only frames, but boxes too. I was very excited about this project because, like many other projects in the Craft Room, their versatility is almost endless.  You can leave them as plain as you like, or really dress them up.  Check out the frames section under the decorative header in the Craft Room. You can use some of those files to decorate your frames. I think the Circus Tent file or the Choo Choo file would be really cute.   Adding something as simple as a name and a basketball, baseball, or the like would make great team gifts, and remember you still have the box part to add treats to! How about adding a graduation cap to one for a grad gift!  Another idea is to shrink them and use them for table markers/favors.  They can be the same theme or completely different.

I enjoy making cards for family and friends, and along with birthday cards, I make anniversary cards. A few years ago, I realized that I make at least a dozen anniversary cards per year. The card recipients either don’t know each other or live far apart, so I began creating cards using the same basic design for all of them. I can customize the cards by using different papers or colors or adding a slightly different sentiment to emphasize the anniversary year. It is a huge time saver to be able to use one design, cut all the pieces at one time, and then simply assemble the cards as they are needed or when time allows.
