Class Info for this Week

Sunday there will be NO class. I will be traveling home from Pennsylvania. Tuesday-Paper Piecing-We will be doing what I consider the 'classic/original' type paper piecing. I will be showing you how to make all the pieces work together. If you haven't joined us for a class yet, here is how you get there. Just go to Community, then to Klo's Classroom and click on Join Live Session. The classes are live and interactive, so it is a great time to come and learn something new, or refresh yourself on something you know and maybe share some fun tricks you have learned. Tuesday's class is at 1pm Central Time. This makes it about 7pm in the UK and morning in Australia on Wednesday.

Tranquility Seashell Rosette Scrapbook Page

Seashells at the Seashore

Recently, my husband and I along with all of our children and grandkids, spent a wonderful 4 days at Seaside, Oregon. The ocean never fails to inspire me when I gaze on the seemingly endless span of water with waves breaking on the shore over and over again. It also can be a tranquil place to sit and contemplate my blessings. It is good to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life just to slow down and breathe deep while watching the kids hunt for sea shells. Making this scrapbook page helped me remember that time and just for a moment I was able to smell the ocean air, feel the breeze and hear the ocean's roar. Ahh... tranquility!

Saving On Paper

One of the most exciting parts of creating your projects is actually cutting them out and assembling them. It’s pretty amazing to see your creations come to life and look even better than you expected. I’ve made projects that required me to test cut my images several times, especially while creating dimensional projects, so that the assembly was perfect. Since every material that you cut will require a different combination of both pressure and blade length you may find in some cases that you may need to cut your image multiple times to ensure a good clean cut. Here is a technique to save on paper and learn what settings work the best for you.

Covered Buttons

I am always looking for new ways to use my Inspiration. Since I used to sew a lot, I have had covered buttons on my list of ideas for a while. Recently, there have been covered buttons showing up in a lot of product lines. They come already covered and cost quite a bit of money. Naturally I want to be able to make covered buttons in the size I want and have the exact color and print I want- when I want it.

Friends are Sweet Treats Popsicle ...

When I think of summer time, I think of cold drinks, shade and cool treats. I still remember the homemade popsicles that were made from Kool-Aid (at least that’s how they were made in my house). I love those memories as a kid playing out in the pool and then cooling off with a Popsicle. This treat was usually shared with my Golden Retriever, Rocky. I guess when you’re a kid germs don’t seem to bother you as much!

Classes this Week-Wordbooks

WORD BOOKS....I love them and they are so much fun to make. I actually have two different styles that I like to do them in, sooooooo, this week for classes, I am going to show you BOTH styles. The first one will be on SUNDAY and the second one on TUESDAY. If you haven't ever joined us for a class before, this is a GREAT one to start with. Remember, classes are LIVE and INTERACTIVE, so this is a great opportunity to tell me to repeat what I am teaching and making sure you are getting each step. But don't worry if you can't make the classes, they will also be recorded and archived on the class page. To join us, just go to COMMUNITY and then down to KLO's CLASSROOM and click the join button. Sunday Class starts at 8:00pm and Tuesday is at 1:00pm, these are Central US & Canada times.

It’s Official!

The First Pazzles Retreat is officialy on the calendar. We will be hosting 3 days of fun, friends, learning and projects in Boise, Idaho. It is an event that you won't want to miss. Classes will be Friday through Sunday, October 14-16, 2011. So pencil those dates in on the calendar and watch for more information and sign up details next week!

Deleting Your Registry

Coffee just seems to call my name on slow mornings. After that first cup, you feel reset and ready to conquer your day! If only our Inspiration and the software had a way to reset itself. Well guess what, it does! Here are some instructions for you to try when you feel like your Inspiration Studio software might need a quick pick me up!

Rotation Flowers

I love flowers, is there anyone who doesn't? They come in such a abundance and variety of shapes and sizes. I never cease to be amazed at their simplicity and yet they can be so complex in design. I have a large number of flowers in my cutting file collection already, but I am always looking for more. Apparently, one can never have too many flower designs. Today, I have created a video tutorial that will guide you through the process of using the Rotation feature found in the Transformation window. Using my method you can create an infinite number of flowers for your cutting file "garden".

Watermelon Mini Album

Watermelon Mini Album

Summertime is the time for picnics, family reunions, BBQs, etc. and with those events, there is almost always my favorite VEGETABLE and FRUIT (yes, it is considered by many to be both)... WATERMELON. In addition to loving the way it tastes, I love the memories that are attached to it for me from my youth. Whether it was putting it in a net and tying it off so we could put it in the river to keep it cold, or the actual first time I got to see a watermelon bust (they actually dropped it in the middle of the table and it made a yummy mess) or making watermelon balls for grandma's salad. I have always associated watermelon with summertime fun.

Classes for this week

There will be no class on Sunday. I will be out of town. Tuesday we will be working on the Tube File that was talked about in Sunday's Q & A Class. So while it will be a technique class, it is also going to be a project class as well, so don't miss it. If you haven't joined us for a class before, now is a great time to do that. The classes are live and interactive and it doesn't matter if you are new or a pro, you can always join in. Classes generally last about one hour, so make yourself an appointment to be there, I look forward to seeing you. If for some reason you can't make a class, don't worry, we record them all, and you can find them on the Klo's Classroom page under Community

Downloading Got You Down?

We know how valuable your time is and it’s important that when you finally sit down and start using your cutter you have everything you need. I often refer to crafting like cooking; you have to have all the ingredients to make a masterpiece soufflé! Crafting is no exception to that rule. So it’s important you not only have the idea in mind, but the pieces to help create it. Your images whether you create them or download them from our library are important components to create all those amazing projects.

Inverted Corners

Have you ever looked at a project and thought to yourself, "Wow, wonder how they did that?" Recently, several of our Craft Room members have called in to ask how to make corners that curve into the square. In other words; how do you invert the corner? It is a technique worth learning and once you have mastered the skill you will find all kinds of ways to use it.

Fresh Lemonade Tin

We get together with good friends often, and most of the time it is at my house. That means I’m in charge of providing snacks and drinks. Nothing says summer like a glass of cold, fresh lemonade. Not only is it a great way to decorate for adults getting together, but it’s a great way to decorate the kid’s lemonade stand too. I hope that you’re enjoying your summer—there’s going to be plenty of warm, sunny days. Just make sure that you have plenty of ‘fresh lemonade’ on hand to help cool you off!

Don’t forget–This weeks classes

If you haven't had a chance to join us for class, why not make this the week. To join us, simply go to Klo's Classroom under the Community tab. Sundays class is going to be a Q & A class. Do have a particular question or file you are working on? Well, email me at klo@pazzles.com with the question and/or file and we will get it answered in class. The emails received will get priority in class, so be sure and email me before hand with your questions. Tuesday we are going to be Paper Piecing from a color book. This is not going to be layering on a back piece, but actual paper piecing and showing you how to make the pieces fit together. Remember the class times are Central Time (US & Canada), Sunday starts at 8pm CST and Tuesday 1pm CST.

Reminder- Pazzles Workshops in the ...

Richard is the Pazzles demonstrator that you will see at the Oyster Stamps stand at craft shows around the UK. He is always happy to meet, help and advise any Pazzles users, as well as demonstrate the software and the Inspiration machine to prospective users. Richard has put together three workshops on the 2nd, 16th and 30th of July. These will be full day workshops starting at 10:00 and will run till 16:00, with a break for lunch. The workshops will be at The Galtres Centre, Easingwold, North Yorkshire.

Upgrading Your Inspiration Studio Software

It’s obvious in the electronic world how quickly the latest and greatest goes to yesterdays has been and forgotten. It seems like cell phones and lap tops are outdated before you even get them out of the box. However, that still doesn’t stop the drive to want to purchase the newest products that are available. When it comes to technology we all like to take advantage of anything that can help simplify or enhance our daily lives, especially when it comes to our hobbies and the things we love doing the most.

Mystery Solved!

The Pazzles Prattler reports today that the dashing investigative reporter, Blade Sharpe, has solved the mystery of The Four Gray Rollers. Sources close to the investigation say that Blade uncovered the truth while doing research in the Pazzles video library. If you purchased an Inspiration lately, you may have been puzzled by the packet of 4 small gray rubber rings.

Feel the need to get ...

How about a weekend with wonderful women learning more about your favorite cutting machine? Would you attend? We are hoping to have our first ever Pazzles Retreat in the fall! Before we get too far in the planning process we wanted to get your feedback so that we can make it the best experience possible. The first retreat will be held here in Idaho with the hope that we can expand into other regions of the United States if the first one goes well.
