We get many requests for shaped cards in various forms and they are always a hit when new ones are released. We can't possibly create a shaped card from every shape in the Craft Room Library, but you can! Imagine the possibilities when you can turn any shape into a card. We have an excellent video in the Craft Room that shows the technique for doing so. We've unlocked this video so it is available for anyone to view : Making Shaped Cards. To get you started Pazzles Designer Michelle has made an acorn shaped card perfect for fall gift giving. It can also be made smaller and used as a place card for holiday meals.

I always have a lot of fun creating projects, but something about this one had me buzzing around the office chasing people with these super cute glittery, hairy legged spiders!! Don’t exterminate these bugs! Instead, lavish guests with spooky fun the moment they step up to the door. They’re bound to get caught up in your web of creativity when you host your spooky Halloween party get together. Let the smiles and maybe even a few frightful screams begin… when you have this spider wreath hanging ready to greet all who dare enter!

No Class: October 6 and ...

Just a reminder there is no class this week. I hope you will take some time to watch some past classes or videos. Spend an hour with your Inspiration and learn or create something.

How to Cut Multi Layered ...

While this may not be an exciting addition to your skill set, it is an important aspect of using your Inspiration Studio Software. Taking apart your file and then putting it back together again can seem overwhelming with large layered projects. This video walks you through the steps and gives you some great tips. ~Michelle It is funny how we can so clearly see the way a finished scrapbook page is put together. There is a bottom layer which is usually a full sheet of cardstock. Then there is another large layer: maybe a scalloped circle. Over that is a title with a mat: 2 more layers. The title has a flourish; there are some cute flowers and leaves and frames for holding photos. It is layer over layer that we have no problem understanding.

Happy Fall Ya'll

Happy Fall Y’all Framed Sign

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love to decorate for fall and I love the colors of fall. I was born in the fall, so this quick project was right up my alley. I took several files from the Craft Room Library and combined them to make this cute picture home decor piece for any room. I’m putting mine in the guestroom. The files I used were the Cowgirl Hat, Cowgirl Boots, Pumpkin and Autumn Harvest Wheat Bundle. I didn’t change any of the files except for the cowgirl hat, which I welded the two black pieces into one and added a slit for the pumpkin. I did omit the stem on the pumpkin, resized all the files to fit my 8' x 10' frame and added this adorable stamped face. I used two different fonts for the saying. I layered cardstock and patterned paper and then glued all the parts onto the top layer. Add it to an 8" x 10" frame and it's done.

On Trend: Chalkboard Art Tutorial

I'll admit I tend to jump on the bandwagon pretty easily when it comes to trends. I've had a shaped photos phase, and an eyelet phase, and a chevron phase and now I've moved on to the chalkboard art trend. It began making an appearance in advertisements and on websites and has now made it's way into the scrapbooking world and home décor. Many of the latest released scrapbook collections have elements of this trend. My Mind's Eye Chalk Studio and Simple Stories December Documented come to mind. Die Cuts With A View has a Chalkboard Paper Stack and Canvas Corp sells sheets of Chalkstock.

Halloween Shadow Box Tray

Inspired by the fun paper collection Steam Punk Spells by Graphic 45 and the Authentique Enchanted Halloween Collection, I decided to decorate a shadow box tray with Halloween pictures and several cutting files. All the cutting files can be found in the Pazzles Craft Room Library. To decorate the top of my shadow box tray I used the Flourish Hardware file backed by chipboard and to accent the flourish I added some sequins for some sparkle. I cut out the Spooky cutting file to add on top of the spider web coaster.

Halloween decorations are popping up all over and party plans are in full swing. What words come to your mind when you think of Halloween? I think: black and orange, spider webs and bats, pumpkins and, of course, sweet treats! I thought it would be fun to combine my favorite Halloween themes into a spooky cupcake stand that will make your party treats look "spook-ta-cular"!

Split Letter Monograms

Have you noticed all of the amazing projects that are using Split Letter Monograms? I have seen them on wedding invitations, as wall art, on mirrors and for decorating glass candle holders, to name just a few. Although they look complicated, they are not difficult to make. The Inspiration Studio Software makes it so easy that hardest part is choosing the font!

Fall Thank You Card

I love fall weather and all the beautiful colors. The colors of fall have inspired me to make some thank you cards.

Trash to Treasure Cowgirl Vinyl ...

We can all agree that a staple in almost any home is the infamous junk drawer. It's the place where we throw batteries, loose change, small light bulbs, buttons, tacks and rubber bands. I’m always intrigued by what I find floating around in mine. When I started to rummage around this morning I found two drawer pulls from a dresser and two old handles from the outside faucets and a ton of matching brass tacks. Paired together with this cute frame I had here at work I thought hey, I could make something really cute with these!

Tooth Fairy Treasures Collection: WPC, ...

When the tooth fairy visits my house it is always a big deal! I love this latest collection designed by Tatum because it brings extra magic into the whole process. The Tooth Fairy Treasures Cutting Collection is full of treasures and trinkets to help you celebrate. Whether you make up the floss box and the tooth brush holder in preparation of the big day, or leave behind the tooth fairy invoice and a tooth fairy gold coin on the big night, this collection will be a hit!

Eerie Victorian Wall Hanging

Add an eerie, yet elegant look to your Halloween decor' this year. This Eerie Victorian Wall Hanging will look great hanging anywhere in your home, even the formal dining room or living room. I cut out Pazzles Iron On using the gold and white from the solid pack. When I applied it to the Velvet Canvas from Canvas Corp, I found I needed to support it a little from the back, so I used a box behind it to help. I put the gold on first, then added the white. For more instructions on using the iron on, I recommend watching this Iron It On video.

How to Use Center Line ...

Today's tutorial features Center Line Vectorization which is one of many vectorizing, or auto-tracing tools, in the Inspiration Studio Software. You may not even know it exists and yet, you really should become familiar with it. It will help you convert clipart to single-stroke line art. Then you can use it in Pen Tool designs, piercing and rhinestone projects.

Nuts About You Fall Card

I'm a little nuts about cute critters and when I spotted this Woodland Squirrel in the Craft Room Library I knew he needed a little time in the spotlight. He is the focus of this quick card, and he looks rather pleased with himself.

Blade Length

Trying to figure out your blade length and pressure is almost an art. Getting it right takes practice and the more experience you have the easier it gets. I know when you are first starting out not being able to get your settings right can be really frustrating. On our forums we have a pressure guide list to help you, and there are also a lot of instructions in your manual about how to go about finding the right pressure and blade depth. Make sure you look at both the manual and the guide, they can be really helpful and save you a lot of time.
