Thanksgiving Table Decorations

Thanksgiving Table Decorations

I am decorating my Thanksgiving table with Pazzles vinyl. This was my very first attempt to cut vinyl. I do not know what I had been afraid of. It is so easy. I started with the Give Thanks phrase from the Craft Room Library to decorate a vase for a centerpiece. I was working with small pieces, so I did not use the transfer tape. I did however, print out the image, tape it to the inside of the glass vase and use that as a guide to lay down the layers of vinyl.

Advent Countdown Cards

Advent Countdown Calendar

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse…… Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner? I’m constantly reminded by the children and also the Christmas merchandise that seems to hit the stores at the start of October! I’m sharing my ‘countdown calendar’ with all of you today and hope I leave you with some inspiration for your own interpretation of one. I changed my mind so many times of how I was going to create this calendar, but I have to say I’m very pleased with the result, and I can still go a bit further with embellishments if I want to. We haven’t done a countdown calendar quite like this before, and so the thought of creating something with family activities built in sounded like fun. The main files I’ve used are the Gate Fold Card from the Fun Folds 1 Cutting Collection, Assembling Rosettes files, and Pocket Card. I used the print and cut method for the small discs with each number and also for the activity cards.

Fall Leaf Favor Boxes

Here in the UK, the leaves on the trees are changing color and it is a strong reminder that Autumn is here. I thought I would create some Thanksgiving Favor Boxes for my friends from a selection of cutting files found in the Pazzles Library. I used the Rounded Box Top file and decided to place some printed leaves on the front of the boxes. I used the Fall Leaves by Miss Kate Cuttables which includes 3 leaves in the set. I imported the Rounded Box Top onto my visual mat and placed one of the leaves in the center of the front panel. I then used my InVue software to print the leaf onto my cardstock. Once printed I placed my cardstock onto my Print and Cut mat and cut the box out. I repeated this two more times switching over the leaves.

Cut And Paste Sketch: Center ...

Even though I am a die-cutter, I do occasionally like to pull out my stamps and make a few cards with them. Today's sketch is perfect for stampers. The center circle can be used for a cute stamped image and the banner above is the perfect size for a sentiment. Mix and match your papers and stamps and make dozens of unique creations.

Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Happiness Table Top Banner

I love personalizing my projects and I generally try creating my projects with someone special in mind. I love giving my creativity away and having that person know it was made especially for them. Thanksgiving is right around the corner. For those hosting your own turkey day, this is a great way to greet guests with personalized messages. Perhaps the use family name, or glue several sections together and make an entire saying for your Thanksgiving centerpiece.

Creating an Inchies Card

Whilst perusing Pinterest and pinning a large number of cards on my inspiration boards, I came across one in particular that inspired me to create a pretty card with my new Inspiration Vue! This was my first project completed on the Vue and I’m very excited about the results and can’t wait to try many new things. After agonising over which patterned paper to use from my scraps I cut 6 squares measuring 2” x 2” and laid them out in a pleasing pattern. The next step was selecting coordinated paper for some circles. Once selected, I put the Vue to work cutting these six circles. Wow! She cuts fast, and so nicely!

Sunflower Bouquet in a French ...

Fall brings us beautiful colors, pumpkins, hay rides and flowers! I love the fall weather, just cool enough to wear a sweater and nice enough to sit on the front porch swing. Every time we go to the pumpkin patch they have cut sunflowers for sale in large French tin vases. I just love the way they look and smell! It’s one of my favorite spots to sneak off to while the kids are playing nearby with their dad. I just drink in the scent and beautiful blooms! I can’t resist touching the petals and I always bring a bunch home! Since pumpkin patch time has arrived, I got to thinking about all the fun and many memories we shared in the prior years of going. One of my fondest memories is of the sunflower bouquets in those tall silver flower pots lined up on hay bales just waiting to be scooped up! While thinking about these memories I decided I would fire up the Pazzles Vue and recreate those memories in a more permanent way. One of my favorite things about the Pazzles Inspiration Vue is that, if you can think it up you can create it! The projects I’ve made with my Pazzles have brought our family much joy, giggles, fun and lots of new traditions. This project will only add to those traditions and memories.

Oven Cupcake Box

I saw an idea like this in a little bakery a few weeks ago and couldn’t resist the chance to “bake” my own. Oops, I meant make my own! It was scrumptiously cute, and the perfect way to showcase a cupcake. Add a cute note to the towel hanging from oven door that lets your friend know how much you care. For your next birthday bash let your loved one know how special they are, and let his oven cupcake box warm their heart.

Frozen Wand

Winter Ice Princess Wand

From what I can tell it is going to be a very Frozen Halloween. Every little girl that I know between the ages of three and six is dressing up as one of the characters from the movie Frozen. I figured maybe the situation is the same in your neck of the woods and a few of you might be in need of an Ice Princess Wand to go along with a costume. Of course these ice princess wands would also be a hit at a winter or Frozen themed party. To make this wand I used the Rosette Snowflakes Cutting Collection and mixed and matched the different snowflakes in layers. After the layers were assembled I added some chunky glitter and Dew Drops gems to add a little bling. I attached the snowflake to a painted dowel and tied various ribbon scraps around the top of the wand.

Book Inspired Fall Layout

Book Inspired Fall Layout

Fall/Autumn is my favourite season, and Anne of Green Gables is my favourite movie of all time. When Matthew and Anne are riding in the buggy together admiring the beauty of the fall countryside I wish I was there with them. My 8 year old daughter Charlotte chose to go to Book Week Theme Day this year dressed as Anne of Green Gables (Anne Shirley) and I couldn’t have been prouder that she’s fallen in love with the story as I did.

Wicked Witch Layout Sketch

Cut And Paste Sketches: Wicked ...

It's been a while since I shared a Cut And Paste Sketch with you, but today I have a totally wicked layout to share. I'm hoping this layout can be used to document your Halloween parties and the yummy spooky treats you bake for Halloween. There are so many great Halloween paper lines this year, so the hardest part of making this layout will be choosing which papers to use.

Make Your Own Comic Book

When I was a kid I had a subscription to Archie and Friends. I loved racing to the mailbox on Friday after school to get my comic book. It got me thinking about some silly pictures I have and how some of the photos deserve to have a timeline story told about them. Maybe you have a series of photos start to finish; like teenagers getting ready for prom, cute proposals, funny wedding parties. There’s bound to be some treasurable memories with some noteworthy stories. Create captions and headings for your photographs and have fun sharing your comical life adventures in your own comic book series..

Halloween Wall Hanging

Halloween Wall Canvas

As most of you know I went on the Pazzles Cruise. I was so inspired by the canvas project that Klo taught us that I wanted to share it with all of you. So first of all I got a 12 x 12 canvas. In the class we used the Pazzles Stencil Material but I didn’t have any of that on hand, so I took a trip to the hardware store. I found one of those 11 x 11 no trespassing signs and figured "it's plastic, so why not give it a try". While I was there I also picked up some joint compound and some glow in the dark spray paint, but that’s for a later project.

Star Shaped Gift Box

Star Shaped Baby Gift Box

Joanna here again, with a Star Shaped Gift Box. For those of you familiar with my projects you will know that I love making Print and Cut projects as well as 3D items. There are several colleagues at work who are expecting babies and these days they seemed to be so well prepared before the birth, and let everyone know the sex of the baby. Selfishly, this helps enormously when making new born gifts. The Star Shaped Gift Box is a simple cutting file, but I love the depth of the box and how the base of the box is cut out of one piece of paper. I cut the base of my box using Kraft cardstock to give it more strength. This enabled me to indulge in my pretty pink papers for the top of the box.

Project Pattern: Hello You Card

Project Patterns Two Ways

Hello Craft Room friends, Melin here with you today. My assignment was to choose one of the fun projects in the InVue Software and make a couple of projects with the same pattern. These projects are found in the local directory of your InVue Software and you get three free Project Patterns with the InVue software. There are layouts and card projects to choose from. I chose the Treasured Friendship card project. The project starts with a prescribed base. From there you can look in the modifiers folder and find sub folders to change up your backgrounds, sentiments and themed images. It really takes out a lot of the guess work for creating a project from scratch. For my first card I created, I chose to "flip" the base from a horizontal to vertical orientation. I then created a couple of quick layers for the mats.

Halloween Bat Banner

Boo! Halloween isn’t so big here in Australia, so creating a Halloween project came with both excitement and nerves! My banner project uses the Cut and Fold Flower Medallion from the Cut and Fold Medallions Collection in the Craft Room. They look great whenever used, and I hadn’t thought about using them for a banner before, but they’re perfect. The file I chose had flower cut-outs, so I changed them out for witch hats to match the Halloween theme. When using the Cut and Fold Medallions I prefer to use double sided paper so that when you fold back your cut outs, you have a contrasting paper showing. I used two sheets from Kaisercraft’s 13th Hour Collection - Evening and Dusk. 'Evening' has the orange background with the black spots (top layer). The 'Dusk' sheet I used for underneath instead of plain black cardstock with the black pattern showing.

Halloween Subway Art Canvas

This fun Halloween Canvas is a great addition to anyone's decorations. With the fun words and nearly see through spider web, it will make your friends take a second look. I have to admit, this is probably one of my favorite Halloween decorations I have ever made. I can see myself using it for years to come, because it just goes with any style of decor. After painting the canvas, I used Mod Podge on the canvas. I then used the gray vinyl from the Pazzles Neutral pack for the words. This keeps it subtle, but you can still see it through the frosted vinyl from the Pazzles Primary Pack, that is generally used to give the look of etched glass. It gives a wonderful effect for the spider and its web.

Halloween Lamp with Vinyl Silhouette

Halloween is right around the corner, and who doesn’t like to decorate for the holidays? This is a super easy project and it’s so much fun! When the lamp is off you can’t see the design. But when someone turns it on, POP, there it is! It is so fun to see their faces when they turn the lamp on! My son said, “It’s kinda like the Christmas tree. I just can’t stop looking at it.” I combined several Halloween files from the Craft Room Library to create this scene. Once I got my design the way I wanted it, I welded the elements together. (Make sure you reverse your design before cutting, especially if you are adding words.) I cut my design out using Pazzles Wall Vinyl in Cotton (White).
