Ruffled Christmas Trees

Christmas is less than a week away. The kids are out of school and if you are a mom, you are trying to find ways to contain their enthusiasm! I used to love to make Christmas crafts with my children. Few of them have survived the years but the memories live on. This week's Tricky Tuesday is a fun ruffled Christmas tree that the kids can help make.

Pinecone

I took a hike this past week through our Mountains in Cascade, Idaho. I was on a quest to find pinecones that the chipmunks hadn’t scavenged yet for winter. I thought they would make a nice center piece on the table. When I found a nice little pile of them under the tree and started putting them in my bag I thought hey, I could make these out of paper instead!

Paper Bows

Wrapping a gift in beautiful paper and bows is half the fun of gift giving. Every year I pick just the right wrapping paper to fit my theme. Well, at least that is the theory. I like to have a different wrapping paper for each of the grandkids but now that there are 11 of them it is impossible. Now I have a different paper for each family, that way it is less confusing when it comes to passing the gifts out on Christmas Day.

Birdhouse Box

Wow can you believe that today is our last day of the 12 boxes of Christmas? We have had so much fun reading your comments and looking at the absolutely amazing boxes you have added. If you haven't seen the boxes made by craft room members go check it out right now! You guys truly are incredible artists and we love seeing your work! Perhaps I shouldn't admit it but I have to tell you that out of the boxes that I personally made, this one is my favorite. It just screams "cozy Christmas" to me.

Sleigh Box

This cute Sleigh Box was inspired by the Christmas Villages that I see in many different stores. I have always loved the scenes in the winter movies of the sleighs dashing through the snow. The shape of the sleigh is especially appealing to me

Piece of Pie Box

I love baking goodies to give as gifts at the holidays. I usually make cookies, candies, jar mixes and jams as they are easy to wrap in fun little packages. Recently, my mom who is widowed, remarked that she loves homemade pie but cannot possibly eat an entire pie by herself. She was thrilled at our Thanksgiving dinner that she would be able to take a piece of pie home with her. I decided to make a box that could be used to gift a person with their own personal piece of pie. I also added a slide out tray lined with freezer paper.

Stacked Christmas Tree Box

This Christmas Tree Box is double the fun because it not only holds a special gift or treat but is an adorable decoration too! Imagine several of these trees in varying sizes tucked in among the greenery. The stacked layers form a sturdy box that can hold a gift or candy treat.

Drawer Box

I thought it would be fun to make a box that actually worked like a dresser drawer. These not only would make a great gift but are great for decorations or even organizing your odds and ends. I thought this box would be really cute to make several of and then stack them together too!

Pyramid Box

A simple and elegant box that is exceptionally easy to make and large enough to hold mini candies. Great for favors at a wedding, shower, or party!

Elegant Curved Box

I love boxes with unusual shapes. I also love to use sparkle and shine in my projects at Christmas time. This elegant curved box is the perfect combination of both. I cut it in a glitter embossed cardstock and added silver shimmer accents. The box also has a velcro closure under the snowflake medallion. There will be no doubt that this box holds a very special gift inside.

Scallop Christmas Tree

I am not a baker, but when we decided to make gift bags and boxes this year for the holidays I quickly went home to retrieve some cookbooks from my shelf. I was inspired to create some scrumptious cookies and give away to my friendly neighbors as gifts this Christmas. I thought this box would be a fun way to distribute my holiday baked goods. I chose a fun paper that was nontraditional for Christmas, pink!

Fold Over Box

Here we are already on day 4 of the 12 boxes of Christmas! If you haven't already make sure to check out days 1-3 of our boxes; you really don't want to miss them! December seems to go by so quickly and no matter how much planning and preparing we do, there always seems to be a gift or two that you really need in a hurry! That's why this box is so perfect, it is a very simple box and so fast! It literally takes one sheet of paper and some ribbon. It would be great to hold a pair of socks, a handkerchief, gloves or anything that just needs a quick wrap.

Hexagon Box

I think there is something about a uniquely shaped box that just gives it that little extra something. I mean honestly, would this box be nearly as pretty if it was a square shape? I just don't think so! I think this pretty little box would be a wonderful way to package up a piece of jewelry or a pretty hair clip. Also it is about the perfect size for a truffle...just sayin'!

Santa Bag Chapstick Holder

I was really excited to create this project for my daughter for Christmas. This is a wonderful way to have your kids create a simple project and give away as a very inexpensive gift to friends. Let’s face it, gift giving is expensive! I’m constantly looking for ways to cut corners on my spending for my holiday shopping and that made this little project was a sure bet!

Decorative Gift Basket

For several years we have celebrated the Christmas season with you by doing a series of 12 projects based on a theme. Two years ago we did the 12 Tags of Christmas and last year we did the 12 Ornaments of Christmas. Make sure to check out those projects because they are still just as awesome as the day they were posted! This year we really wanted to "wow" you with our 12 days of Christmas project series. After much debate we settled on doing the 12 BOXES of Christmas. We know how much you love dimensionals and we also know that they can be pretty intimidating to make. So let us help you out this season with 12 boxes that will leave your guests and recipients "ooing" and "awwing" all the way in to next year!

Frosty Window Card

Have you ever walked by a home on a frosty evening and caught a glimpse through the window? The Christmas tree sparkles with lights; maybe there are candles on the sill and a wreath hanging in the window. This simple card evokes that same cozy feeling for me. Christmas is the season of giving and for those of us who craft, our thoughts often turn to making cards. What better way to express our personality and individuality than in a custom made Christmas card. The truth be known, for many of us, Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without handmade cards.

Just a Bunch of Turkey’s ...

There is just something about the personality of these turkeys as they come to life on this 2-page scrapbook layout that will have you laughing out loud as you make it!

Gratitude Pop Up Card

This Pumpkin Pop Up Card is beautiful on the front and is extra special on the inside. It is a special way of showing your gratitude. There is no mistaking the special attention you put into making this card!

How to Chalk Your Cut ...

The Tricky Tuesday blog usually has a video tutorial to show you how to use your Inspiration and the Inspiration Studio software. Sometimes I might show you how to make a project from start to finish. However, today I am going to take you down memory lane to the earliest days of Pazzles. Today, I am going to show you how to chalk your cut pieces. Not only am I going to show you how to chalk but I am going to introduce you to one of Pazzles earliest products: the Chalking Tool.

Pie Box

Are you going out of town for the holidays, maybe to the inlaws, and you want to bring a gift with you? Or maybe you are just going to be a dinner guest somewhere soon and really want to bring something special with you to thank them. Maybe you just really want to show someone how much you love them. What about combining your cooking and crafting skills to make a delicious pie all packaged up in a beautiful hand crafted box? I really have a hard time thinking of any gift I would rather receive!

Make You Own Stamps Autumn Thanks Card

Make Your Own Rubber Stamps

Fall is a beautiful time of year. The trees are turning colors, the air is crisp and special occasions abound. Now that the weather is cooler, you may find yourself in the mood to stay indoors and create. Thanksgiving and Christmas are not far away, providing you with ample reason to indulge yourself in your paper crafting passion. Making cards is a quick and simple way to feed your creative energy. You can make several cards in an afternoon and those who receive them always appreciate the time you took to make them. Why not make them truly unique by making your own rubber stamps?

Mad Scientists!

Happy Halloween!! We hope you are well prepared for a night filled with trick or treaters, scary movies, adorably spooky costumes, and of course candy! Here at Pazzles we thought we'd celebrate Halloween by sharing our mad scientists with you. I often refer to them as "the techie guys" but I think the term "mad scientists" applies quite well. In fact after seeing them at the Pazzles Retreat I don't think I can think of them as anything else! Get this cutting file in the library!

Autumn Layout Project

I absolutely LOVE Autumn. I love the colors, I love that it is getting cooler, I love that it means Winter is just around the corner for me and that I will be able to 'hole' up and do some crafting. I can take NO CREDIT for this layout, it was completely done by my best friend, Stephanie aka Simply Steph (whom many of you have met at different conventions around the country). When I saw it, I knew it had to be a project, because it is so beautiful. So I asked Stephanie if I could use it for my project this month, and to my joy, she said YES. I hope you enjoy and love it as much as I do.
