Hot Air Balloon Card

I was inspired to make this card for my mother because riding in a hot air balloon is on her bucket list.I have gotten so used to having the freedom to create whatever I want on the Inspiration I tend to kind of forget how "the rest of the world" lives! Shaped cards like this one are super easy to make. I made a video a while back on shaped cards so if you haven't seen it I am including it with this blog so that the next time you need a special card for a special gift you will know exactly how to make it!

Party Cups

Custom Party Cups

Have you ever gone to the party store to buy paper goods for a party? I seem to want to take things up a notch especially for graduation and baby events. I have found myself wandering the aisles looking at all the great paper plates, napkins, cups and banners. I might even put them in my cart and then...I pull most of it back out again. It is so expensive! It also seems like I can never find the right colors of paper goods to match the graduation colors.

Covering Chipboard Shapes

Have you noticed all of the chipboard shapes available? There are letters and shapes both simple and more detailed. Do you ever find one particular shape that is just begging you to buy it and turn it into something wonderful? And have you ever bought one of those shapes and spent hours painting it, or hand tracing and cutting paper to go on it? I have to admit that in the past I have passed up those fun shapes because I did not want to spend a lot of time making the project. Plus, why buy a chipboard shape when I can cut chipboard on my Inspiration?

Teapot Box

I've made a lot of box patterns during my time at Pazzles, and I mean a LOT. I am, if I may so say without sounding too conceited, pretty good at it. Other people are gifted at making scrapbook pages, cards, altered arts etc. but as for me, boxes are where it is at. While I am proud of every box I make, some just have a little something extra that makes me ever so proud. This is one of those boxes. I love all the curves of this box and I love how well it emulates a real tea pot!

Graduation Cap Box

Graduation Cap Box

It’s that time of year when school is almost out for summer. That means that graduation is just right around the corner for our proud 2012 graduates. Whether it’s high school or college graduation I hope that this graduation cap box will add the perfect touch to your party decor and favors. Not only does it make a nice gift filled with sweet treats and money for the lucky grad, but it’s also a great way for guests to remember this special event as well.

Mother’s Day Easel Card

The easel cards that have become popular recently seemed perfect for a Mother's Day card. I love the idea of having a card that is also a keepsake to be displayed and enjoyed. While searching for ideas, the soft florals and scallops that are prevalent in the UK right now kept popping up. I knew they would make the card even more special.

Magic Slider Card

About two weeks ago someone in the forums asked about a cutting file for how to make a "magic slider" card. I had no idea what they meant so I went to my good ol' standby, Google, and started looking. Wow! How cool are these cards? As you pull on the slider your stamped design magically fills with color! Of course there is a trick to it is quite clever! This idea works with any stamp design so you can adapt this idea for a card for just about any occasion. Both the quote and the flower stamp are stamps from Verve©. Aren't they lovely? I thought this card would be perfect for Mother's day or as a "just because" card.

Group With Transparency

Have you noticed the little button all the way at the bottom on the left side of the Inspiration Studio Workspace? It has a little padlock on it and if you hover over it with your mouse, it says Group with Transparency. Do you know what that means and if you do, are you just a bit stumped on how to use it?

Eiffel Tower Box

An adorable Eiffel tower box that you can fill with Parisian treats (or Hershey's kisses).

Make Templates for Your Stamps

Did you know that I started out by selling rubber stamps at home parties? I really did love collecting all of the stamps and every color of ink. In fact I still have them, although I rarely use them anymore. I think that hand cutting around stamped images just seemed a bit of a betrayal to Pazzles, so I stored them away. I will admit that I have ventured back into stamping some since Pazzles introduced their stamping kit. It is really nice to have specifically the stamp that I need. However.....there is still the fact that you need to cut around the stamped image. Ahh! But there is a solution to that dilemma.....

Easter Egg Card

Crack open the egg to open a cute little spring chick in this happy Easter card!

Change It Up: Reinventing Projects

Spring time gives me a multitude of reasons for crafting: Easter, May Day, Mother's Day and, in my family, lots and lots of birthdays. Choosing just the right present for the recipient is important but I also like to make the packaging for the present as special as the treat inside of it. It is at times like these that I turn to my Inspiration cutter to make my crafting ideas come to life.

Best Friends Layout

Here in the U.S.A. spring is definitely in the air! As we all start spending more time outside with our friends (and taking pictures of course!) this layout is the perfect addition to those photos you take on a fun day spent with friends.

Custom Easter Eggs with Vinyl Resist

Vinyl Easter Egg Stickers

Add a new twist to egg decorating this year by making vinyl stickers for the eggs that are a kind of mask that would prevent color from getting on the area of the egg underneath it.

Lollipop Covers with Verve™ Stamps

I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that Easter is almost here! Over here in the west side of the country we've been having chillier weather than normal . In fact we had a heavy snow fall just a few days ago! You can imagine that the weather is making it even harder to put my mind in spring mode! I think however, that this project did the trick for me. This project is so simple and I just love how it turned out.

Cupcake Wrappers and Pedestal

Flower Cupcake Wrappers and Pedestals

Spring is in the air! At my house the Daffodils and Tulips are peaking through the soil, the robins are returning and the grass is beginning to turn green. At this time of year I tend to have flowers on the brain. I can't wait to see the first flowers bloom. All of my project ideas seem to feature a flower in them somewhere. Today's project is no exception

Pop and Wobble – Adding ...

I am often asked how I know what to do to make a project stand out. Since I am not content to create a page or card and leave it flat; I have an arsenal of ways to add depth and realism to my designs. I always add inking or chalking, layers and other dimensional elements to my project. I am constantly on the look out for new products that can add a fun element to my project. Check out the rest of this blog to see my latest find. Be sure to read to the end to find out about our Crafty Special for Craft Room members.

Shamrock Bag

If St. Patrick’s Day pinching really isn’t your thing perhaps making this little Shamrock bag filled with chocolate gold coins will leave a bit O’ luck for coworkers and friends.

Dr. Seuss Day

All over the country, kids are celebrating the Birthday of Dr. Seuss. We have been enjoying his books since I was a little girl- which is a REALLY long time ago! The first book I ever read was 'Green Eggs and Ham'. I also have fond memories of reading his silly rhyming books with our kids before bed. (Although, I have to admit that some of them didn't really settle the kids down to sleep!) My grandkids could dress up like Dr. Seuss characters for school today and I was, of course, thrilled when my daughter asked me to help with the costumes.

My Garden Scrapbook Layout

Using the Rotation Tools

If you have been using your Inspiration for a while, I want you to reminisce with me for a bit. Think back to those first few weeks after receiving your Inspiration. If you were like most of us, you approached learning the software with a great deal of excitement plus just a little bit of trepidation. First, you tried typing a word and changing the font; then you tried some of the pre-designed images from the image gallery. When you got comfortable with that, you decided to venture into some more daring applications. For instance, remember trying to figure out how to rotate a shape?

There’s “Sew” Much You Can ...

The crafting world isn't exclusively for paper crafting and our Inspiration has found a place in the homes of crafters of all kinds. We have a lot of designers, jewelers, and a number of quilters excited about using our machine as well. We are making scissors a thing of the past! With that in mind I thought I would address the big fabric question. So many of you often ask this question: is the Inspiration capable of cutting fabric?
