There will be no class on Sunday, November 6, 2011. I will be traveling home from Ontario, CA. Tuesday, November 8, we will be creating a leaf border, that is like the pop up punches. It will be fun to use for cards, boxes, layouts, etc. Be sure and join us on Tuesday at 1:00pm CST. Simply go to Community, then down to Klo's Classroom and join the class. Select sign in as guest, type in your name and you are in. If you are unable to make the class, be sure and check out the recorded class later in the week.

Make You Own Stamps Autumn Thanks Card

Make Your Own Rubber Stamps

Fall is a beautiful time of year. The trees are turning colors, the air is crisp and special occasions abound. Now that the weather is cooler, you may find yourself in the mood to stay indoors and create. Thanksgiving and Christmas are not far away, providing you with ample reason to indulge yourself in your paper crafting passion. Making cards is a quick and simple way to feed your creative energy. You can make several cards in an afternoon and those who receive them always appreciate the time you took to make them. Why not make them truly unique by making your own rubber stamps?

Mad Scientists!

Happy Halloween!! We hope you are well prepared for a night filled with trick or treaters, scary movies, adorably spooky costumes, and of course candy! Here at Pazzles we thought we'd celebrate Halloween by sharing our mad scientists with you. I often refer to them as "the techie guys" but I think the term "mad scientists" applies quite well. In fact after seeing them at the Pazzles Retreat I don't think I can think of them as anything else! Get this cutting file in the library!

Autumn Layout Project

I absolutely LOVE Autumn. I love the colors, I love that it is getting cooler, I love that it means Winter is just around the corner for me and that I will be able to 'hole' up and do some crafting. I can take NO CREDIT for this layout, it was completely done by my best friend, Stephanie aka Simply Steph (whom many of you have met at different conventions around the country). When I saw it, I knew it had to be a project, because it is so beautiful. So I asked Stephanie if I could use it for my project this month, and to my joy, she said YES. I hope you enjoy and love it as much as I do.

Classes for October 30 and ...

First off, where on earth did October go? Sunday's class is going to be the Print and Cut class that was cancelled on Tuesday due to internet problems here. Tuesday's class will be taught in the Pro 2010 Software. We are going to show you how to create a stenciled look in 3 different ways. If you haven't had a chance to join us for a live class yet, now is a great time to do that. Just go to Klo's Classroom (under Community) and click on Join. Don't worry if you miss it, because it will be recorded and put on the Klo's Classroom page with the other past classes.

Finding New Life in Old ...

When it comes to mats it can be crazy to see the amount of debris that you can see left behind by different paper and fabric products. Of course I can’t tell you how many mats I’ve destroyed by getting glitter on them. It never seems like my crafting area is big enough! Sometimes it seems like a balancing act just to complete a project with my limited amount of space. The best way to keep your mats tacky is by keeping them clean and following a few tricks that have always worked well for me!

How to Cut Multi Layered ...

or...Taking it apart so that you can put it back together again. It is funny how we can so clearly see the way a finished scrapbook page is put together. There is a bottom layer which is usually a full sheet of cardstock. Then there is another large layer: maybe a scalloped circle. Over that is a title with a mat: 2 more layers. The title has a flourish; there are some cute flowers and leaves and frames for holding photos. Layer over layer that we have no problem understanding. And yet......when we look at a cutting file of the same page we get all confused.

Dimensional Haunted House

This dimensional haunted house can be as scary or cute as you want it to be. I have created one that is definitely on the cute side. Change the props and add spider webs, bats and monsters to make it more creepy!

Boise Retreat Recap

I am so sad (and so relieved) the Boise Retreat is over! Klo and I had a fabulous time and made so many wonderful friends. Thank you, Thank you, wonderful ladies for attending and being so gracious as we muddled through our first ever retreat. As much as we taught you, you also taught us.

Boo! Pop Up Card

Halloween is the perfect occasion for Pop Up Cards. After all, you almost expect spooky things to pop out and surprise you. Pop up cards are not hard to make and add an extra dimension of fun to the card. If you have a grandchild who lives far away, a pop up card will remind them of how much you love them. Of course, pop up cards can be used for any occasion and can turn a ho-hum card into a "Wow, would you look at that!" card.

Witch’s Brew

Halloween has become less about the candy over the years and more about the food, and good friends at our parties. I always like to bring the hostess of the event a little surprise and I thought this would be a perfect gift for our Halloween get together this year. What a great way to dress up a bottle of sparkling apple cider or your favorite bottle of wine to go along with all the goulish snacks and dips. I even included some wine tags with some cute sayings on them so that you don’t lose your glass at the party. It’s another great way to customize your glasses with either your guest’s names, or just to put a smile on their faces. “Witch”ever you decide to make, I hope you and your friends enjoy a very spooky, Happy Halloween!

Paper Halloween Treat Containers

The weather has taken a sharp turn towards winter this week here at Pazzles and it is impossible to deny any longer that summer is over and fall (winter?) is here. Though I have always been a warm weather person, I can't help but feel a child-like excitement start to bubble up in me when I realize that the holiday season is upon us. I love the memories, activities, and traditions that surround every holiday and some of the "heavy hitters" are just around the calendar corner!

Pastry Starter Kit Giveaway!

We are so excited about our new Pastry Tools that we are giving you another chance to get your Pastry Tools for free! Here's the scoop! Good luck and have fun!!

Humidity and the Quality of ...

I love the rain and here in Idaho if the weather man says it’s supposed to be sunny, it will snow. If he says it’s going to be cloudy and windy, it’s going to be a sunny beautiful day. I can’t really blame it all on the weather man, after all this is Idaho weather we’re talking about! I think Fall is finally on her way and to make her big debut she is bringing the rain with her today, but I’m absolutely loving it! Summer is over and we’ve probably seen the last of the hot days. In the desert areas like we live in winter also means a lot more moisture and humidity than we are used to. That extra humidity also means that my paper and the pressure and blade length that I use with my Inspiration can start to change a bit too.

We promised you you would have the Pastry Tools in time for the holidays and TODAY IS THE DAY! The Pastry Starter Kit is now available for purchase in our online store!! Also available is the Pastry Tool sold by itself, Pastry Mats, and other accessories like Pastry Replacement Blades, the Perfect Height Roller, Ready Made White Fondant, and Sugar Sheets! We've had a HUGE response to these exciting new tools so make sure to get your order in before we run out!!! If you haven't heard about the Pastry Tools yet, check out our video to see the amazing new things you can do with your Inspiration!

Kiss Cut Line Length Example Pumpkin and Star

Too Big, Too Small or ...

Proportion can make a significant difference when you are creating a design for a card or scrapbook page. The details on the design should enhance it and not detract from it. Tiny accents and lines on a large project can get lost. Putting large details on a small image will overwhelm it. Sometimes you need to use both types in order to get the right effect. I love the kiss cut tool to add details but sometimes the default size is way too small for my project. Are you like me and had forgotten that there are 2 sizes of kiss cut lines available in the Inspiration Studio Software?

Pumpkin Treat Boxes

October Challenge

I am so excited about this months challenge because it came about because of yesterday's class of creating a Treat Box. The Challenge is to use the Treat Box Base file and create your very own fun Treat Box. The ONLY shape you cannot use for this challenge is an actual pumpkin, because I want you to stretch yourself and come up with another fun shape that will create a cute box.
