Kiss Cut Line Length Example Pumpkin and Star

Too Big, Too Small or ...

Proportion can make a significant difference when you are creating a design for a card or scrapbook page. The details on the design should enhance it and not detract from it. Tiny accents and lines on a large project can get lost. Putting large details on a small image will overwhelm it. Sometimes you need to use both types in order to get the right effect. I love the kiss cut tool to add details but sometimes the default size is way too small for my project. Are you like me and had forgotten that there are 2 sizes of kiss cut lines available in the Inspiration Studio Software?

Thanks Pumpkin Scroll Card

Pumpkin Scroll Card

The air is crisp, school has started and the leaves are turning colors. Yes, Autumn has really arrived. I may want summer to last but I have to admit, I do love the colors of fall. One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to visit the local pumpkin patch. Round orange pumpkins lie all over the ground with leafy vines trailing everywhere. Inevitably, I am inspired to make a card featuring a pumpkin. I often feel that no matter how many lessons you watch on the software, you do not truly understand how all the features work until you see them in action on a project.

Sunflower Gift Box

Sunflowers are some of the happiest flowers I can think of. They always make me smile, no matter what size or shade of yellow they are. For some reason they always seem to say "you are special to me". In late summer the roadsides and fields near my home have a multitude of wild sunflowers. A little bit of cheer that pops up in the most unexpected places. Naturally, I thought of adding a sunflower to a gift box as a way of telling someone how much they are appreciated.

Make Your Own Plastic Chipboard

I love the look of chipboard in my projects but I don't like that I always have to cut a layer of paper or cardstock to cover it. The chipboard may be brown or an ugly gray or even printed on (if I use a cereal box). So, I usually cut a second layer of cardstock and glue it on; or I paint it; or ink it; or in some other way try to disguise the chipboard. That is why I really love today's technique, I can make a nice stiff board that is already covered in the cardstock of my choice. Plus, I can recycle all of the plastic bags that seem to accumulate under my sink. It's the perfect combination: making something beautiful while repurposing something that would normally end up in the trash.

Twirled Flowers

Create these six dimensional flowers simply be twirling the paper around a pencil and then curling the petals down. So simple and yet so beautiful you will want to make a whole bouquet!

Flower Rosettes

Nana's Garden A couple of months ago I taught you about paper rosettes. At the time I had played a bit with making Rosette Flowers as well but felt that they deserved a lesson all on their own. When I needed to make a project for Grandparents Day for a magazine, I decided to make flower rosettes. What I didn't count on is how addicting they are! I just couldn't stop trying one more style of flower.

Drink Collar

August is here and for many of you that means the heat is really settling in. So this project is just a little reminder to HYDRATE yourself! Drink that water people! This cute and simple project is great for mass producing water bottles for any outdoor event including sports games, practices, weddings, and pool parties. Today's project is also special because we are giving it away to EVERYONE for FREE. Just a little gift from us to you to thank you for being part of the Pazzles family! We are also providing the SVG for this cutting file for those of you that are using MTC or SCAL with your Inspiration!

Watermelon Mini Album

Watermelon Mini Album

Summertime is the time for picnics, family reunions, BBQs, etc. and with those events, there is almost always my favorite VEGETABLE and FRUIT (yes, it is considered by many to be both)... WATERMELON. In addition to loving the way it tastes, I love the memories that are attached to it for me from my youth. Whether it was putting it in a net and tying it off so we could put it in the river to keep it cold, or the actual first time I got to see a watermelon bust (they actually dropped it in the middle of the table and it made a yummy mess) or making watermelon balls for grandma's salad. I have always associated watermelon with summertime fun.

Being Green

Being ‘Green’ can mean a lot of things. In my grandparents day you had a green thumb if you could grow plants well. The ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’ movement has been gaining momentum but really started in the 70’s about the same time as the advent of Earth Day. More recently it means to be aware of the impact your everyday life has on the environment. My grandma would probably say that reusing and recycling was just a way of life for her generation and they would have called it being thrifty. However, it seems that having a thrifty mindset is something that the rest of us have to work at. Today’s project is a great way to use some “found” objects that you might have thrown away in the past. You can also use up those small bits of vinyl you have after cutting a larger project. It makes a great gift for someone who loves to garden or just something fun for your own green thumb!

Easter and May Day Baskets

Traditionally these beautiful May Day baskets are hung on friends door knobs on the first of May. Often they are filled with flowers and treats as a way to celebrate the arrival of spring. What a fun way to get in to the spirit of spring! Even if you aren't in to the idea of May Day baskets, these hanging baskets are perfect for Easter! I even think that some of these baskets would be wonderful for wedding decorations.

Frog Prince Card

Sometimes we read a little more in to something than what is actually said. This card takes advantage of that by cleverly promising a prince. Hey, the card never said what KIND of prince, there can be frog princes too! This adorable card is great for any occasion and is sure to give the recipient a smile.

Fool For You Kinetic Card

We thought it would be a great idea to make April Fool's Cards as one of our projects. When we went looking around for inspiration though we were surprised at how little there is out there! What we could find was usually tasteless and/or unkind. Perhaps April Fool's day isn't exactly the kind of day most NICE people think to make a card, but we were determined that it could be done!

All Fools Day Card

I would show you the inside of this card but...there isn't one! That's the trick, the "money" is stuck inside a card that will not open. At least it is fake money!

Warm Thoughts Pocket Card

This Warm Thoughts card has a clever pocket for a packet of hot cocoa or apple cider mix. It’s the perfect antidote for the winter blahs.

Winter Branch

I have a feeling that most of our Pazzles friends are out shopping on this day-after-Thanksgiving. I personally avoid shopping on Black Friday and decorate my house for Christmas instead. I thought it would be fun to have a little treat for all of you faithful 'Pazzle People' who visit the website on what would otherwise be a very slow day.

Harvest Spread

The way food is presented has a huge effect on how we perceive it to taste. It may all be in our heads but we simply cannot help that a wonderful looking spread makes us believe it is also a wonderful tasting spread. Well we may not be able to help you with the cooking part, for that you are on your own! But we can help you with making your harvest feast look amazing!

Printable Window Cling on Glass Candle Holders

Printable Window Cling Autumn Leaves ...

Last week I shared how to add color and shading to Pazzles Window Cling to make decorations for Fall. I hope you were excited to try the easy method of using alcohol-based markers on the cling plastic. This week I wanted to give you some ideas of how to use the Printable Window Cling that is included in the kit.

Decorate for Fall with Pazzles ...

I can remember how much fun it was to decorate the windows with seasonal designs using Window Cling kits I ordered through a catalog. (This was wa-a-y before the internet!!) The kids and I had so much fun deciding which piece went where. When we drove up to the house we could see the designs from the outside too. I loved it because I didn’t have to deal with tape on my walls or thumbtacks making holes that would need to be filled later on. Sometimes I was disappointed that I couldn’t find a set for the event I wanted. Now, I never have that problem since I can cut my own window clings on my Inspiration using the Pazzles Window Cling kit.

Can’t Find it? Make ...

I think one of the most valuable attributes of the Pazzles Inspiration System is the ability to create anything I need for a project. I can choose from hundreds of fonts and most of them are free on the internet. If I can’t find exactly what I have in mind I can make it look the way I want. I have COMPLETE CONTROL over the results. I don’t need to buy a new cartridge or download to get the look I want. I don’t need to settle for something that is so-so. I don’t need to pop in one cartridge and keyboard overlay, cut ONE thing, pop in another cartridge and overlay, cut ONE more thing and repeat, repeat, repeat. In the Summer Splash page pictured here, I altered the fonts to fit the theme. Simple ways to alter fonts are to tilt the letters or resize them as I did for the word ‘laugh’. (Use the Break text by Character option under the text menu to separate the letters.) But did you know that you can change the fonts in other ways?

Make it a Better Fit

How often do we think that about so many things in our lives? Why can’t they make these jeans a better fit? Why is it that these sheets aren’t just a little longer? I like that color but I think it would be a better fit if it were just a little darker/lighter. The title looks nice but it would fit better on the page if it was curved instead of straight. I think we all have had times in our creative process where we wish the word or title had more character. We want it to curve up or down, we want it to fit on top of the heart, we wish we could put the word inside of the butterfly. You all know what I mean!
